PEGI 18 in US but MA15+ in Australia - what has been censored for us fragile Aussies?

As per the title... I'm just in the process of installing my boxed release of Mad Max and noticed on the DVD's there are multiple different ratings...

The US rating is PEGI 18, the UK(or Euro) rating is USK18, where as the Australian rating is MA15+...

Anyone know if this has been censored for us apparently fragile and impresionable (according to our overly zealous nanny-state censors) Australians?

Hmmm... Strange that they only gave it an M15+ rating then, given their past history... Maybe they've finally unbunched their panties a little on how they rate games...

We can hope at the very least if nothing else...

It is normal though, USA rates violence and sex a lot higher than Australia and NZ. I have a bunch of movies and games that say R18 on product packaging but a classicifation sticker has been put over it for R16 or MA15.

Though you are correct about the Supreme court ruling. Hyperion is also correct on his/her point. Take a look on what Sen. Dianne Feinstein wanted to do back in 2013. These are the "nanny state" people he/she was referring to.

You may not understand, even if congres passed a law banning violence in video games it couldn't go into effect, because it is the law now, and it has been ruled unconstitutional to ban games at all no mater the content! (Not unless congress disolved the supreme court)

Dunno what their doing, but the game didnt have much to censor anyways. Australians hate video games in general and cant be trusted with them due to their past which is why everyone in Australia elects leaders who will protect them from video games like how in America they elect leaders for international security.

I think you misunderstood my post.

You don't have to convince me, bro. They been trying any form of censorship they can for as long as I can remember. Back in the 70s when I was just a little kid, they wanted to ban Rock music because of the Devil. No, I'm not making that up. Now, they are the same people, just different things to ban and different excuses.

No, I completely understand on how laws work. Despite what the supreme court may rule the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazies still try to come up for reasons to censor violence and or sex in videogames. Though it may never happen in this case, you do know that Supreme Court rulings can be overturned, right? Given the right enviroment anything can happen.
