EDIT 2nd Sept 1:06:
I have filtered the controller error.
It has to do with fluctuations in the z-axis. Z- is left Trigger, Z+ is right trigger.
The game interprets the fluctuations in the analog signals, as if the left trigger was pressed (even when not) or not pressed (even when so).
This explains the wild hopping in the menu. It assumes left trigger used.
In the game Max jumps around, even when controller is not moved. Or doesn't react.
So the program is too sensitiv to the fluctuations of the z-axis. I had the same problem with "Rage", where an always aiming mode on was assumed, such not playable. There I could solve it by raising (not decreasing?) the mouse sensitivity.
This doesn't help with Mad Max. I also tried a lot of changes in the settings.ini, SensitivityPitch and SensitivityYaw. It does not solve the z-axis probem, it only influences the x/y-axis.
Don't know how to solve it now. Mad Max can't handle the tiny z-axis fluctuations in a correct interpreted way. I must add, that games like GTA 5 or TW3 and all other games have no issues with that.
In "Rage" I had the problem, that it went always in aiming mode, which made it unplayable...until I changed mouse sensitivity in the settings, and then finally the controller worked.
Now in "Mad Max" again huge probems and totally unplayable. My controller makes no trouble in GTA 5 or Witcher 3, so I don't get this....
go to human interface devices
disable hid-compliant game controller.
see if that fixes it for you.
Did deactivate as you said, but that didn't change this strange controller bahaviour.
And in menu LT doesn't work.
And in graphics settings it changes always to 50 Hz instead of 59 Hz.
When other games are working....it must be a bug within Mad Max. My PC hates wasteland games...because Rage was unplayable too, with going into aiming mode automatically and such unplayable. But here helped change of mouse sensitivity, not so in Mad Max.
Aporpos mouse...when I ignore the controller and go to keyboard and mouse, I can walk with WASD, but not look around with the mouse...
50 bucks for nothing and a waste of saving space...:-(((
Other games no problems.
Mad Max: can move and look with controller, but not jump/sprint with triggers, no interaction with buttons, and can't open the map with back button. In the menu sometimes it moves around by itself.
With mouse no looking around.
The Mad Max controls are absolutely not working and make the game totally unplayable for me. I can go to the 1st water the beginning of the game, but not even grab it...
This is weird. I checked the Steam local datas, everything shall be ok...
