First person gameplay?

i watched the trailer, and it seems like that when you are in the car you can play in first person. Is this confirmed? can you play in first person on foot too?

No, only when driving can you go First Person.

Not sure a game like this would work very well in first person mode anyway. And third person shooters rarely look very good when you place the camera in the head of the protagonist (with unofficial mods, anyway). Suddenly, low resolution textures stick out like sore thumbs everywhere.

But at least being able to drive in first person is a nice touch.

I'm fairly certain you cannot. Combat would not work in first person at all. Not only would Avalanche need to create every single animation for first person, but the combat wouldn't work as you wouldn't be able to see enemies coming at you. Melee combat was built to be third person. Driving in first person is more of an aesthetic than anything practical.

No, you can only go First Person in your car, on foot it's online Third Person.

You CAN go into first person outside of your car. Here's a video with the senior producer of the game telling us that you can go into FP mode while in combat (starts at about 13:35)

No you cannot. Listen to it again. He is talking about going into first person while in your car for "combat." You cannot go into first person on foot. The video never states that.

A while back I heard a podcast with some of the developers and I'm certain he said you cannot go first person view outside of your car. It's no bigge for me.

...how can you think it is first person, after seeing the clips? it is obviously third person. You CAN go to frist person in vehicles if you want, but not on foot.
