They haven't measured it (according to IGN livestream), but the map itself is infinite in a sense that there are no real "borders". There is the regular map but you can drive infinitely past it as the game will render more landmass. Though AFAIK it won't be very detailed, mostly just desert and no real locations beyond the main map, which in itself seems pretty massive.

The devs said it will take up to 100 hours to complete everything.

Thanks for the reply.

Oh wow, I'm so looking forward to this, Gonna have to buy an XB1 controller for my rig though as I'm hopeless with a mouse and keyboard with 3rd person/driving games ^_^

Well, i watched at least 3+ hours of different footage etc, and from what ive seen it's supposed to be around the same size as the just cause 2 map.. wich was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge in the first place, i dont think you should worry too much :) also as the first poster said, there are no finite borders so you could potentially load up on fuel, and rek your savegame by just driving into nothing lol and not being able to do anything but walk home :D lol i see great potential with messing with friends here :P

I wasnt talking about co-op. like if you are at your buddies house and he goes to take a ♥♥♥♥. just drive out into nothing. my best friends and i all share our steams too,(iz called trust earned through many years of IRL friendship!). log in, ♥♥♥♥ it up :D even though that would be total douchery

There is no invisible wall. You can drive for as long as you have fuel. The world will continue to generate terrain as you go on. The map is absolutely massive as you can imagine. Driving is a major focus of the game, so it needs to be big to accommodate that.

You can go into the big nothing and find really rare scraps but eventually a giant sandstorm will show up and you will die unless you leave quickly. So you can drive for as long as you want before you die horribly

According to a developer gameplay video, the world beyond the map is procedurally gennerated, so its infinite.
