Missable camp info?
So if I've dismanteled the camp before getting the intel, once I enter the camp it will always say No intel gathered?

Do we have to gather intel first?
Either the camp defenses will start spewing fire at me when I drive up to the intel guy and I destroy them and then the camp.
Or I find the secret entrance by mistake while exploring and I destroy the camp without ever getting the intel.

Doesn't make it any less upseting. I hate missable stuff so much.

Somtimes I'm halfway through a camp before realising there's an intel point on the map. So I just leave the camp, get the info, finish the camp.

But good to know that no intel stays no intel.

Some camps doesn't require info right? Upon entering there's no No intel or Intel gathered massage.
Also some convoy intels are missable. There's no way to see it, it just wount display in logs.

When you see a camp or convoy route, always look around in the imediate area for a purple encounter marker.
If there is no purple marker nearby, there is (probably) no intel to be gathered.

Thanks, doing just that. Started the game over because my OCD was raging about missed intels)

I know that feel.

One more thing, some of those 'Intel encounters' are positioned in the range of the camp snipers.
So always try and take those out with your own Longshot if you plan on stopping close to a camp.

The intel-givers can't get targeted, but you can.

Yeah, I've noticed that also.
Do you know if intel givers can be killed? If so will they respawn?
I always scan the aren for hostiles and stop the Opus like 20 meters away to be safe, so I don't know if they are mortal and/or respawnable.

Yes and yes.

I've once been attacked by buzzards right before I tried to get intel.
They just rolled over the guy laying on the floor with his bi-noc-u-lars.

Killed them, drove off, drove away and the purple marker was back on the map.

The whole Intel mechanic is rather poorly done, IMO. There's nothing told you can't figure out while running around inside the camp. There's no true 'secrets' to find (something requiring a very specific chain of events to occour), and you still have to mark all the camp defenses yourself.

But, fortunately, it doesn't really have any impact on the game one way or the other.

Good to know, spared me a heart attack in case something like this happens)

Ever hand a water flask to a guy dying of thirst only for Roadkill to come flying over the dune and splatting both of you mid-animation? : /
