Big Chief race and failure
I enjoyed the game up to the point of the big chief race. All areas cleared, everything built, and every upgrade I can get.

Then came this race.

Simply put, I cant do it. I have read guides, which all pretty much rely on you keeping up with the car. from speed build to armour and all in betwen, for the life of me I cant do it. Partly because I get no mini map- had it once, and it was much better knowing was coming up- partly because the controls/views are terrible here- keyboard play is horrible for me here! Turning is an RNGesus exercise- you may turn tight, slow, you never really know. Turning a corner lets you see where you would br looking if you didnt turn- not a lot of good as I have to try and move mouse to the right view while the camera tries to keep up (failing dismally)I did wonder if 1st person view would help- no :)

Controller may be a better option, but its limited for me. Due to manual dexterity problems. trying to use 2 joysticks is very difficult ( I assume thats what ti uses) and I hate controler anyway).

Maybe time to put it away until there is a difficulty setting (havent found one yet) so I can actually do it.

Its an annoyance that this is a have to complete mission- without doing it, I miss whatever comes next.

I did have the same prob with the Dazzle race, mainly because every time I got to the canyon th egame would freeze for half asecond- never quite the same place, but always on a corner and it always threw me off.

So- nice game, but fails at the hurdle. Next time, maybe....

I ran into the same problems, I normally prefer kb& mouse but with 3rd person games I end up having to use controller. I agree about the controls being unpredictable, even on controller. This video is the one that helped me. I was trying to do a long drawn out steady race and always failed. This quick to the point one worked after trying it only a few times.

Not really complaining, but others say this game is so easy, but on quests like this I found it incredibly difficult. I would never have tried this tactic without a guide. Ignoring the other cars, instantly firing weapon at the GO signal, boosting all 4 times right away, it's just not a logical progression IMO. To do the race the normal "right" way would be very difficult.

I did exactly what this youtube vid portrays. Not much of a race if you just kill the main car. Max Thunderpoons and you should have an easy time with this race.

Wow youre saying the game is bad but YOU are the problem. Game is pretty easy. Maybe you should go back to playing Barbies Doll House or something less more skill driven. That was the easiest race ever. Remove all armor and ramming grill and max out thunderpoon. Drive behind him and blow him up and just aviod mines. He is not much of a challenge.

Plus its time to buy a new pc because my game never froze on the Crow Dazzle race. Maybe buy a SSD to aviod the freezes

Wow- quoted a whole post and picked on one word:)

Try reading the spec I posted, it would be a start. Also the reasons stated, as opposed to making up your own.

I would love to take you seriously, but given the comments, I really dont think I can. No offence meant of course!

"I did have the same prob with the Dazzle race, mainly because every time I got to the canyon th egame would freeze for half asecond- never quite the same place, but always on a corner and it always threw me off."
Youre bragging about your specs but it cant even run this game. Meaning you need a new SSD because HDD cauase regular freezes

"Controller may be a better option, but its limited for me. Due to manual dexterity problems. trying to use 2 joysticks is very difficult ( I assume thats what ti uses) and I hate controler anyway)."
Problem lies with you. Dont play games that actually require a controller.

"Simply put, I cant do it. I have read guides, which all pretty much rely on you keeping up with the car. from speed build to armour and all in betwen, for the life of me I cant do it."
Another problem that lies with you. Maybe try harder to beat the boss which is so easy because all you do is thunderpoon him and gg.

"Its an annoyance that this is a have to complete mission- without doing it, I miss whatever comes next."
You give up to early. Take a break from the game and come back later and retry.

"So- nice game, but fails at the hurdle. Next time, maybe...."
It is you that is failing not the game, you need to look at yourself first because many players didnt have the problems that you are having

Yea didnt read through all these rants BUT, you dont even need to race him. Just destory him! keep dodging the war boys that are following him and keep shooting big chief with the thunderpoon till hes gone and it will end :)

Maniac's not exactly wrong, OP. You did practically say the game can't preform because of reasons regarding a hard part in game and your PC crashing it. Can't necessarily blame your skill and injured hand on the game. On the upside, it can be beaten, and it is questionable that your specs are slightly higer than mine and you're getting an issue. I know Nvidia had an update just for Mad Max not too long ago. If you're using Windows 10, there's been listed problems there in multiple games.

Using a controller is your best way to succeed, as it allows more control with camera, steering, brake, and acceleration. As for strategy getting Stank knocked out quickly, there's a few tips.
-you can squeeze off a thunderpoon shot at the beginning of the race before the minions jump in the way. Hold your aim right down the line as the timer goes and fire.
-don't worry too much about the minions. They're clumsy and don't attack you as much as trying to block shots. You're sweet spot is between them and Stank, specifically when he tries using fire instead of mines.
-don't swerve the mines if you're in a tight spot. If you do, you'll crash, they'll still blow, and he's gone. Best just boost over them and hope they go off after you pass.
-don't bother with the yellow marked detours if you can't maneuver them. There are about three good boost spots that you can catch up to him
-time your thunderpoon shots using the slomo aim. Don't do it at corners, don't do it if a minion is anywhere in front of you. Spam shots will run you dry and you'll miss opportunities reloading.

Took my friend and I 5-6 trys figuring it out, but we got closer each time. On the bright side, it's the hardest part, but the rest is a lot easier.

i, for one, have not done this race yet, but i DO experience i small stutter from time to time, i don't think it has to do with the grade of PC that you are using, as i have one of the best cards money can buy the 980ti, the game runs from HDD but that will never cause stuttering just slower load time and in an open world game like this the sector is already loaded before you reach that point. As for you dexterity problem, that is a real bummer. Keep at it dude, you WILL get it eventually. NEVER give up... Max won't. Also... yes DESTROY the opponents, this is mad max dude... not nascar.

@ maniac --Youre bragging about your specs but it cant even run this game. Meaning you need a new SSD because HDD cauase regular freezes ```... you sir are so clueless about hard drives don't even pretend to know what you are talking about. if you HARD DRIVE freezes you get a blue screen dork

When it saves onto a HDD it slows down the game and hence causes freezes. Dude this game doesnt use much loading screens which puts strain on a hdd that can load everything fast enough. SSD is the way to go. Maybe go read something before you post here.

The HDD is not freezing the game is because its writing on the hdd while the game is playing and hence causing small freezes idiot

AND ANOTHER thing, maniac, There are problems with win 10 as there are always problems with a new OS. MAN up and do your research so as to not sound like a total clown

SSDs can have 100 times greater performance, almost instantaneous data access, quicker boot ups, faster file transfers, and an overall snappier computing experience than hard drives. HDDs can only access the data faster the closer it is from the read write heads, while all parts of the SSD can be accessed at once.

hence the freezing while playing
