Magnum Opus performance disappointing...Interceptor..a joke..
Seriously the car isn't a masterpiece at all...if it wasn't for the harpoon and thuderpoons it will suck badly...with maxed aceleration and speed it hardly outrun any car in stright line (of course that in every turn you will lost the stupid AI but that's other discussion)...just the heavier ones. I know that if we make the car stronger the game will be too easy (if it isn't already)......but seriously with the amount of scrap I have recolected I should be able to repair the freaking Gutgash's ship...and not just build a slightly over average car. Speaking about the Interceptor....well..I just will say that is sad make an iconic car so useless. :(

I think that it would have been better make the upgrade system based in exploration (scavenging places like the underdome) or capturing special fortresses where the enemies build special cars or defeating random boss cars that spawn around the map, so each piece would be more difficult to obtain but it will offer much more inpact on performance too.

When i capped the exhaust, nothing caught me. i outran storms across the entire map. no car caught up in the Flats.

The upgrades can have a large impact on performance depending on how you equip your car.

Try the top tier v8 and exhaust without the heaviest armor.

If you install all the highest teir the performance stays just about the same as when you started.

I am personally pretty happy with the Magnum Opus upgrade system. It's definitely more than what I assumed it would be. If you're just looking for speed or control, you might want to consider decreasing your armor and going with top speed or handling ornaments. I think the system is kind of fun.

However:

1. I dislike that only the red primer paint job has a bonus attached to it. I feel like they should either all have some sort of bonus, or none of them should have a bonus.

2. I would like to see a "set bonus" for the archangels, to give you more incentive to use one of them versus a completely custom car of your creation. If they felt that was too unfair, they could give all archangels an extra positive bonus, and also an extra negative bonus. Maybe The Jack gets a slight bonus to all areas, but has slower harpoon reload, etc. you get the idea.

3. I would like to see more value placed on the "other" cars, and the bandit cars you can unlock. Unless I'm going for certain challenges, I just don't know why I would use one of these cars over my Magnum Opus.

4. They should give us a preset car slot that allows us to hold a set of upgrades because it is annoying having to rebuild your car everytime you use an archangel.

The way I see it is that the upgrade system is pretty good. I think they made a clear mistake giving red primer a special bonus because it makes other paints inferior. Archangels could be improved, but they aren't bad in how they've been implemented because it's convenient being able to switch to different types of cars on the fly in the wasteland without having to return to a stronghold. Bandit cars could have more use, but as I see it, they didn't even have to include these extra cars in the first place so it's an okay bonus.

I removed all the upgrades that make it slower. And put ornaments to max speed. But still find it uninpresing. It is just slightly faster than other cars, and those small suicidal cars sometimes catch me in stright line.
About the paint jobs, yes I think it's unbalanced that just one give bosuses. Also I find speed ornaments quite ugly.

Nice car Derisat, it would be cool that we could get the rim spikes that convoy trucks have.

You may want to go rewatch The Road Warrior and Mad Max:Fury Road. The Interceptor was overtaken, even with a sizeable lead, in both movies. It's speed is in line with it's speed in the movies.

Max is the difference, not the car.
You play as Max.

I'm gonna chalk this one up to not understanding game design/balance. Some folks seem to want an "I win" button rather than try to succeed within the parameters of the game's design, not realizing the hundreds of hours and aesthetic sacfrifices that go into making a playable, challenging game. Any idiot can design a BFG, but it takes skill and practice to design a gun that is fun to use but still has cons to counter its pros.

All in all I'd have to compare this game to Shadow of Mordor. Its a great first game with some problems, but I can see that most of the problems stem from having to pick the lesser of two evils within a given timeframe, or simply not having time to implement everything. If WB and the devs listen to the community, the sequels to these games are going to be awesome.

And yes, I am a Mad Max fanboy por vida, so theres that too.

I remember two chase scenes in the second film in the first Max turn off the supercharger and in the second the bad guys used a bunch of bottles of nitrous oxide to catch him, so the Interceptor is shown as the superior machine. Didn't see fury road and I think I won't, most sequels of older franchises disappoint me...

Both make the difference. I can't do anything to improve max speed or acceleration since here there is just a button.

I understand the point of balacing the game, I succed with the game parametres easily (I almost never died and almost every dead was becouse I fell off a cliff xD) but now that I finished the game I just want to hang around with an overpowered machine to have a bit of fun.

Hi, I do not think you understood what I meant but no worries, and you should watch fury road, George Miller is still the director unless you think he became rubbish with age.
And I wanted to add that I easily outrun most cars after I unlocked the V8 (and make sure to max out the nitro as it will help when coming out sharp turns)

This got to me a bit too. The AI has a warp speed button or something... Although when I stripped it down, put highest tier v8, exhaust, two top speed ornaments, and the proper tires (sand shovels for dunes, dump, and anything south of the jaw, slicks for everything else) I would pull ahead and leave the cars chasing me in the dust. I think it's the hood ornaments that are meant to give you the edge, otherwise the AI cars scale with you. I don't know...
