Griffa upgrades making game too easy?
I was playing the game without any griffa upgrades and having a blast. I was around 20 hours in and was already had achieved road warrior rank (saved all griffa tokens).

Then I had the dumb idea of buying griffa upgrades and now I just feel the game is way easy. I cant die with that much health, water is aways full, ammo is aways full. I use the worst Mad gear there is and still every fight ends once I enter fury mode or pick up a weapon.

I feel the game is kind of ruined and am considering starting a new game (where I will never upgrade)

Atm I am at Gutgash initial missions. For those that finished the game or are just ahead of me. Am I right or will the game get harder furthermore so that I will need the upgrades?

i just entered the new location, and i feel it's very easy in some parts, and i don't even have all the upgrades. having the notifications pop up every time you get a bonus is rather annoying, so i stopped visiting griffa. having an upgrade system is rather pointless in a game like this.

devs need to stop adding in stupid upgrades like this, it adds nothing to the game and rids it of any challenge

I felt the challenge is already ok without griffa. Even for less experienced players.

Probably a WB's call to make the more "accessable". I think I'm just going to start again.

Honestly, most of those griffa powers are of questionable worth in my opinion. Extra money is okay early on, but most of my income by far comes from captured outpost periodic rewards and griffa does not enhance that. Extra water, extra food, and lower fuel consumption is okay, but I can take a quick trip to any stronghold and be completely replenished. Extra melee weapon durability and melee weapon damage is okay, but most of the time I don't even use a melee weapon and enemies still drop like flies. The health increase is solid, I'll give you that, though you definitely don't require that extra health.

Gear is more noticeable, though you can downgrade if you feel the game getting too easy.

I see your points Terrawen. True is I play without upgrading the fortress since I enjoy the survival aspect of the game.

But my major point was about combat. The fury time just becomes huge. Weapons stun enemies in one hit. I honestly cant die in a single combat unless I enter it low health or make a lot of mistakes. And when it ends, one water soure can fill my canteen twice. And, yeah I can pick ammo at the fortress. But it feels like I enter a camp with full ammo, shoot everybody and exit the camp at full ammo again.

well i have around 10 hours of gameplay so take it as you will but the water and gasoline mechanics feel unsued, for the first missions you have no water or gasoline but im not fully upgraded yet and its almost impossible to run out of gas or water ..even worse with the 60% plus water upgrade. i dont mind the game being like this but utleast they should include a "survival" mode for people that actually want to make water and gasoline a factor.

Griffa upgrades were the first thing I decided to not use when I started over. As long as you restrain yourself in that first camp, you only need to place 1 token. I'd also say to pay attention to how much you upgrade strongholds and which combat abilities you take. Everything else on Max and in the garage can be unequipped or traded for a more basic model. I have a feeling I'll be starting over again to scale things back more as the game still feels like a walk in the park.

same by me iam not a upgrade fan they mostly make everything easy

i like it difficult a true challenge i usualy choose the hardest difficulty too the more i die the more fun and new tactis we must think :)

but mad max has no difficulty setting ^^

there i do the same i try skip the griffa upgrade aside the one we were forced as "tutorial"
choose mainly only items like more water not adding any strenght :)

sorry bad english

I have nearly maxed out everything at Griffa but I can tell combat still might be hard later on. 2nd mission in Deep Friah stronghold had pretty damn hard battle at the end, hence Max is all maxed out and abilities maxed to 90%.

Gasoline upgrade is a must have if you tend to use sideburners. Weapon longevity is much needed for taking down top dogs (especially roadkill ones)

Two things that would go a long way for making the game a lot more replayable is adding a difficulty option, and also I think increasing the amount of tiers per Griffa upgrade. You end up with *so* many of them it is ridiculous. But if there was 25 tiers per ability, and each gave 2% instead of the 10% it does now or something...

By far not the perfect solution for them, I'd much rather a few more interesting ones and not dilute the gains as much but it would still be better than nothing.

One thing I noticed makes the game very easy is the fact you regen hp with a fury kill. Combine that wuth fury time extension and bonus hp and you have immortality right there,

It IS an easy game. I'm on my second run (had to restart due to Underdune bridge bug) and am going through with wearing only the patrol leathers as a self-challenge to boost up the difficulty. Mate of mine is doing the same but with just the starter shirt. Makes for a more enjoyable game for those who're looking for more challenging gameplay in my opinion - worth a try?

I haven't played for a few days but I hardly touched the plot at all and just did the activities, camps etc. I think I am Road Warrior level 54 or something like that. Was level 21 when I went through the Jaw.
in my first play - ill use all the upgrades for max/car - in the second play i won't use any upgrades except the ones necessary to move the story/objectives
Zvitatzki Sep 11, 2015 @ 10:48pm
even the activitys in the game make it easier by reduce treat hm this is kinda bothering me

i not do most those activitys as i do want more enemys and not less

the fury mode is bad too it auto turn on and make us OP
usualy games have a hotkey to use if ready :/
believe we need to wish and wait some moddders to make it real difficult :)
