When I was struggling with the top end achievements, (12 kills without being hit, 25 hit combo & 8 kills in fury mode) I found it helpful to watch them to improve my technique a little.
Maybe get someone else in with a fresh perspective to give it a go?
Try a few fights with the keyboard instead?
This. That "locked in" moment can drive you up the wall but you can opt to roll and dodge in some cases to prevent it. Especially useful against a large number of attackers.
Remap the draw/aim weapon to other than the right mouse button, the default setting means if you hold the button a fraction too long it draws the shotgun instead of blocking and you get hit.
The next to attack give themselves away really early, you can block before the 'flag' appears on screen even in 'Fury' mode.
Anything you can block in 'normal' mode, you can block in 'fury' mode with the exception that in fury mode you can also stop incoming attackers by hitting them if you are quick enough, and enraged attacks can be cut off when they are 'working' themselves up the same way, by hitting them.
You're not locked in, you just don't have as much time to block/parry as in normal mode.
Don't hold the right button down, tap to block, hold to get killed.
Punch & Roll is my basic fighting style.
Try to pick out 1 guy and beat him till he is down. When another attacks, roll away. Rinse/Repeat until they are all down.
After completing combat challenges with freeflow in all 4 rounds with different characters, Mad Max was unbelievably simple.
Rotate mouse to keep your attention on yellow circles and red warnings and don't hesitate to execute - that's all tips really. :)
Don't know if its possible, but try remapping your block button and see if that works. At least it will rule out a non-responsive button. Hope it all works out, Never played the Batman games, but have had lots of fun with this one.
yea how dare people not to respond in 2 hours for a 5 year old game.. jesus get down from your high ross
