Mine gives me the Big Chief 8hrs into the game with a minimum of the game played, no real advantage other than having the "magic wrench" early to cut repair times and opening the maps up from the start.
Strangely I haven't had to deal with the map bug since I started this way, 4 times in a row previously but not since. Go figure.
Why would I play with fewer upgrades for "Challenge"? When I tend to play these kind of games, a power fantasy is what I seek.
And I sure would have loved to have had the magic wrench a lot earlier in the game. I really wish I could have gotten the magic wrench and then had all the convoys reset, because harassing and taking down those convoys is much more fun if you don't have to constantly interrupt your assault to repair your car.
Oh well. Still one of the best games I've ever been addicted to.
