Dinky Di ffs
Its impressive that the developers used a ver Australian colloquial term in the game being Dinky Di. But the pronunciation is killing me....Dinky Dee.....its like nails on a chalkboard every time I hear it. Its pronounced dinky die.

Never thought about that.
Now that I think about it.. Dinky Di has never been pronounced in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, you can only read it on the can.

And doesn't Dinky Di actually means 'genuine' instead of something dog-related?

Oh god yes this gets me every time. So frustrating hearing them screw it up so badly, No game has made me cringe this much since borderland Pre Sequel.

No, Dinky, no Die.

Cause, cause, cause, I remember that we used to eat
From the cans in Gastown,
Chum - obaserving the 'scrotus hordes
As they would murder the good people to eat.
Good food we have, oh, good food we've lost
Along the way.
In this great future, you can't forget your past,
So eat your dog food, I seh.

No, Dinky, no Die

I used to live in Canada and I would refer to the Maple Leafs as the Leaves. Those hosers didnt like that. I imagine this would be the same.

Chumbucket has said it aloud in-game. He pronounced it Dink-Dee.

I believe it may have been an Australian dog food brand in the 90's. But I don't think it exist now. Also Australia doesn't have a lot of the things that are in this game. For instance the diner architecture more resembles American diners and we really don't have massive subways the like that is in the game. Let alone us having that stuff in the 90's of which it appears this game is going off that level of technology or period in time.

On another note, this game is supposed to be apocalyptic yes, and it is supposed to portray a lack of resources and everything is degrading. There sure are a lot of people with vehicles of whom waste the precious fuel and of whom obviously don't care about keeping their vehicles intact when vehicles should not be numerous nor easy to come by of which the game implies otherwise. Running into a patrol everything 2 or so minutes is asinine and breaks immersion. Plus why are there no other wanderers with their own vehicles and only bandits and raiders with vehicles, even when the territory threat levels have been lowered..... This game even though it's fun doesn't seem to be a serious game when the old movies were anything but not serious.

I thought the change in pronunciation was on purpose,
Like the company wanted adog food brand that's similar to the saying but different enough for copyright.

I doubt copyright would have been an issue if they had used correct brand names and terms. Because if they were to use brand names that still exist it would actually have been a form of advertising and been in that company's best interest.

Yeah I just want to know if it was intentional. I mean they have an Australian doing the voice for mad max. Every Australian knows its pronounced dinky die. Surely he would have told them.

Dinky dee to an aussie sticks out like dog ballz on a kitten.
I laughed the first time I heard it, cringed each time after.
