Impaling enemies with thunderstick

Hi all, I wonder if anyone could help me with the 'Defeat 5 enemies by impaling them with a thunderstick' challenge. I simply can't get the timing right. I've tried both clicking the middle mouse button when an enemy is close to me just like you do when doing a shotgun gutshot and I tried to aim with the right mouse button and then throw the thunderstick when the enemy is close by. Nothing has worked so far. Any help would be much appreciated.

With no enemies in sight take a thunderstick and practice the lunge forward. When an enemy appears you should have the move perfected.

It's the equivalent of throwing a normal punch, just with a thunderstick in your hand. Just make sure you don't try it with another enemy too close or they can interrupt you faster than the requirement for the thunderstick-shoved-in-enemy's-chest-and-go-boooom animation. It's a bit clunky- misses more often than a regular punch. Just keep spamming the punch, particularly after a parry, and it'll work.
