You will have problems with running most 3d games from 00s. Even build-in GPUs in Intel CPUs are much much better than Geforce 710.
To start evaluating GPUs you can use this site's GPU database:
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-hd-7970.c296
Most basic value to look at is FP32 TeraFLOPS performance.
FP32 (float) performance
3.789 TFLOPS
Then you can look at game's system requirements, and compare TFLOPs of GPUs.
But bare in mind, that TFLOPS comparison is rude and theoretical, because it only represents synthetic maximum computational performance of GPU. That's why actual popular games are used as reference in reviews when measure performance in video games.
Dang, I was so excited to get a dedicated graphics card. Thanks for the link! I didn't know how to even start comparing GPUs.
Don't blame yourself, there is a planet-wide scum going on.
