Is there any romance in this game?

I know this sounds mushy but I like stories with some romance. I don't necessarily mean the bioware archetype of romance options and questlines, just some plain old romantic interest woven into the plot somehow.

For me it sounds right for this game. There's a woman; Max and she develop some closeness over the plot. I dunny why would you say there is not.

She is barely an interest to Max, let alone a romantic one. There is nothing about pure scripted cutscene interaction with zero choice or input from the player that would make this a "romance." It's not. 5 minutes worth of spoken dialogue between them over the course of a 40-60 hour game does not make it "romance."

Bioware and CDPR, even Bethesda as weak as it is, offer romance plots for their characters. Mad Max does not have romance.

I don't think OP means or requires some dialog choices and player input to consider it romance.
Well, it's hard to say with Max's attitude, but he feels something for them. This kind of romance fits Mad Max harsh universe.

He asked if there was "Romance" There is. He would have gibbed here at the off mate. Thus the storyline would not have connected the dots. Just because he didn't """" her doesn't mean he wouldn't have in the end? What was your outcome on this scenario?

That depends on how much content do you expect :) For @D4eaming if that's just some cutscene dialogs with no choices then it's not romance, for others - it's as much as you get for some romantic plots in movies.
Of course it's not a date-sim harem, there's literally a SINGLE good-looking woman in entire game. But developers clearly imply something between her and Max.

Anyway, see for yourself, it starts when you arrive to Gutgash stronghold. Sorry for possible spoilers.

there is yes, there are 2 romances going on through the whole game chumbucket-wrench and the opus, and then there is Mad Max and Scrotus-roadkill-buzzard threasome,
there's also a stalker/peeper-tom/sandman? who follows Max pretty much everywhere, after engaging with that mysterious person Max is always left breathless and on all fours , so yeah it is kinda "romantic" if you look at it in that way..yeah and there's one woman with a kid (you can't do them though)
