Collecting scrap simulator
I enjoyed the game, overall. The landscapes are beautiful, I love the colors, it has some great scenes and the Mad Max universe is well reproducted, it's a joy to evolve in this environment. But I think the game misses something important about being an open world : after hours of gameplay, I felt like I just collected scrap for hours as if I was playing a free clicker on any internet browser. The game's rythm and balance could be way better, I think.

Otherwise, thank you very much for releasing this game on Steam. And please apologize my english.

In a world where automobiles are seen as cathedrals, it is understandable that scrap is life. If you haven't seen it yet, you should watch the movie Mad Max Fury Road.

Loved the 4th one. My favourite of the saga by far. I don't remember seing max spending much time collecting scrap in any movie, though, haha.

Collecting the currency to buy new power ups usually is a huge part of any open-world game. For me the only real flaw is the oversimplistic melee combat but since the vehicular combat is so amazing I never got bored with some sessions of spamming punch and dodge.

Well my memory probably sucks because I sincerely don't remember spending such a high percentage of my time hunting that much for the same scraps (knowing I have collected 13 of the 15 availables in this area) in any Elder Scrolls, any Zelda, any Assassin's Creed, any Batman Arkham, any GTA nor Mafia, Bully, LA Noire, Saint's Row, Sleeping Dogs, Kona, Lost Planet 3, Jade Empire, Shadow of Mordor...well I could quote them for hours.

There is, it's true, some open world games in which we spend an equal percentage of our time collecting stuff. Mostly RPG and hack & slash, such as Diablo or Borderlands. And well, this is not the same thing at all. We collect many different things, stuff to improve or change our equipment, droped from monsters we just killed, excited to discover what is this new object, and the equipment system is often more than a simple "collect money and upgrade"...the collect part is very addictive and well done.

I think Mad Max is just very poorly designed when it comes about this precise aspect of its game design. Copy/paste random scrap and hide them in any area with a counter so the player will have to search every corner for it. Just lazy. Like the feathers in Assassin's Creed 2, except that the feathers are the most optional thing ever in AC2, while scrap is a very important thing in Mad Max, the game almost forces you to hunt them down. When it's about collecting, it's a crap scrap simulator I think. I was very surprised a non-indy game was having such a cheap game design when it's about collectibles.

I agree about the combat part, it's just another Arkham but well that's not that terrible. And yeah, the game has many vehicles moments so in the end it's a good thing for the game's rythm.

Please pardon my english.
