Anyone else feeling it? That it would be really cool if they made an Waterworld themed game with the mechanics of this Mad Max game. Replace cars with ships and there's the premise. It could even cut some development time by going Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon route where the actual DLC/second game utilizes FC3 assets and runs on same engine. Waterworld would easily make use of the Mad Max rusted metal plates etc assets and use the same engine to power it.

Main "ground" in the game would be obviously just sea but you'd have these different scale built bases[i.ytimg.com] scattered around much like in the movie and you'd have to conquer them like in this game.

I actually liked that movie even though it was voted down badly by the critics.
Was one of many coffin nails for Kevin Costner, but he recovered and I really liked his appearance as Johnathan Kent in Man of Steel.
Also his play in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit was solid.


Anyways, yeah... I would like such a game either.
Especially if some sort of survival would be involved and you have to dive for marine creatures to get some food.

I hope someone decides to do a remake and then we'll get a game too.

I never played it, just asked google to check it out for me.

I really like the real-life video sequences.
But yeah, the rest looks pretty dull.

Tries to be Fallout 1 or 2 (just in a world with water except a wasteland), but fails hard with it.

Sure, Mad Water Max! Cars steer like boats anyway in the current game.

Water world as good as a movie it was wpuld have to be done right. It was a strong silent type movie. Sort of like mad max. But... Not as much action. And when the action is present it is all on the big oil tanker. This would leave most of the game and action on that 1 large tanker. Also i find as compaired to mad max besides the lack of action a much more... Drama filled movie. Said that i feel it would be a long rpg style game

They could do a Mad Max game where the water returns - with a vengeance - and Gutgash was right after all. But it really wouldn't fit the Mad Max movie genre, so it won't happen.
