(Truly) Exploring the Big Nothing
Hello people; if you're still lurking on this game, as I am, you may still be curious as to what lies beyond the boundaries of the map. Well, my friends, let me document my travels for you.
I downloaded a trainer to give me infinite health and drove out into the unknown. (North-East, for those wondering.) For about five minutes, the map seemed normal, ignoring the storm that I was stuck in. Pressing on, the storm eventually faded, and everything cleared up. The white warning message was still plastered across my screen, telling me to go back, (obviously I didn't,) and the map seemed... Relatively normal.
It was bland. Rolling hills, small rocks, bumps and texture on the ground. Curious, I kept driving, wondering if the map was going to continue generating forever or if it would end and I would fall through the world. Suddenly, the warning message disappeared, and, much to my surprise, scenery started appearing. Rock pillars popped into view, and I saw a broken bridge in the distance. I drove to the bridge and was surprised to see that it was fully rendered and detailed, coupled with rusted signs. The bridge ended hanging over a massive ravine, which, much to my surprise, looked as if it belonged in the main game. Looking down the ravine I saw more bridges, more details.
And that's as far as I've gotten, for now. Going to press on after I post this. Will post screenshots if requested.

Almost immediate update: I hit the end of the map! After a minute or so of driving from my bridges and ravine, the white warning text re-appeared. After a while of bland scenery, I was faced with a small wall overlooking a huge, straight drop. My theory is that the actual map is much bigger than we thought; SO much bigger, only lacking complete details. I hereby dedicate myself to exploring it further!

Have not tried that ryuu, im about to start roaming now, so I guess first on my list tonight is to shoot a bird and have motor roasted bird lol. If anyone wants to watch I'll be streaming.
yeah i did the final mission the other day, and have been exploring beyond the big nothing with a cheathappens trainer, there are oddities in the north (where the final boss battle takes place) and the south (where the game intro takes place) if you keep driving south you find some really weird pieces of scenery, i found one area with a foot bridge between two rock formations and a creepy skull cross hanging in the air, a lighthouse, ship/submarine wreaks, a small underground area, and tons of weird square platforms scattered around, then you keep driving a while more and you go over the edge of the main map, you fall a bit, and end up on more flat terrain that looks endless, such a strange game, it would take hundreds of hours just exploring beyond the main map and looking for weird stuff

And Flat Earth confirmed: if you drive in one direction you'll fall from the "planet" surface, lol :)

This game is much cheaper than on start and is on BIG sales quite often. And it was in game bundles sometimes.
Check price history, pretty much anyone can afford this, big part of my friendlist have it.

Gonna do it right now. :steamhappy:

At the very end of the dungeon you find a Mancannon (collectable Buzzard vehicle), that can be drove through a very long dark pipe out into the dunes. Pretty nice unmarked dungeon! This game definitely had the potential for DLCs.

Right below Chum's territory there are:
1) Skeleton in an armchair, Max even comments on him
2) Small underground buzzard lair inside the container
3) A scrap pile under huge ship screw
