"Fast travel not available at this time"

"This time" is the last three hours of gameplay now, and counting. I first noticed it around the time I did the Gutgash armory mission (marking sulfur) and cleared a base to unlock the next story mission.

I searched around and found other people locked out of fast travel for either select locations or all of them (like me), but the best advice was to talk to a wastelander. I've spoken to Intel wastelanders, ones digging for scrap, and ones needing water, but still no fast travel. I've driven back and forth to talk to both Jeet and Gutgash (also Hope). I've advanced the story by taking down the Dim Rim convoy and making the Thunpoon. None of this has helped (and all if it has been a pain because of long drives).

Do anybody have any advice on fixing my broken fast travel? It's really ruining the game for me. Thanks.

You mean you can not fast travel to Jeets or Gutgash's stronghold?
Is this your first play thru of the game?
only the balloon and stronghold locations are available for fast travel(need to go up in the balloon to unlock it)

try verifying the game install files, maybe some got corrupted

Be oldschool, the game is easy, distances are not really big, makes it more fun to play it Mad Max way: by capturing vehicles, wrecking them, ditching, going on foot, beating faces, eating maggots. Some vehicles are worth using and have weapons, Dropkicker is just awesome and needs no ammo. Buggy is also fun to drive and you need it to clear minefields and get ammo.

I had that problem once on Jeet Stronghold. But it fixed after i used fast travel to some of Jeet's territory race.

No, it's not only strongholds, I can't fast travel to any locations at all. Not strongholds, balloons, or death races.

I've visited both Jeet and Gutgash and done a couple story missions. I've also talked to a bunch of random wastelanders, which old threads said might be a fix.

Well, it came back after restarting the game. It had all been one long session (with PS4 rest mode) I experienced this.

Heads up for any future players who might find their way into this thread. This was on PS4 and was fixed by full reboot.

Well there is your problem you're playing on a PS4, sometimes going to map and clicking on another quest or starting another quest will bring back the fast travel or restart game.
Play on PC ffor the best of cinematics and graphics and load speed

I'm playing on PS4 because the game was given out there for the right price of free with PS Plus. Honestly I would never have played it at all otherwise.

There are some conditions when fast travel is disabled, like dfuring a storm, but you definately seem to have a glitch. If it's not fixed on restart you probably have corrupt files.

literally shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. this is a thread asking why the fast travel stopped working. Responding with "don't use fast travel lel" is off-topic.

driving manually is fine if you're trying to 100%, but at some point it's just there to pad out game time. And the distances become way longer when you get run off the road and killed every five minutes because of a war boy party that massively overpowers your car, even though you've maxed it out and have all the best upgrades for it.

I'm playing on PC and have this problem sometimes. Seems to happen randomly after I talk to a wastelander with a mission that I finish right there, or I clear a small scavenge POI, kill everyone there, and loot it 100%. I can literally drive up to bottom of the hill outside Jeet's stronghold and it just says "fast travel not available at this time", and the "Y" button is grayed out.

I experienced this today with both Jeet and Gutgash. It was triggered by saving inside a stronghold. I cleared the hug by driving to that stronghold, entering it, and then leaving the stronghold. That made fast travel possible again, you just gotta do it to each stronghold individually. The game was treating me as inside of a stronghold, but re-entering the game after saving and exiting said stronghold would load me into the last camp I cleared. Hope that helps avoid it from triggering in the future, if anyone is still playing this and reading this thread.
