You can refund your game if it was purchased very recently with playtime not more than 2 hours. Buy it on Origin or PS4. Btw Mad Max PC port is incredibly well done. This game is optimized really well even for older graphics card.
As for worrying about pirates, according to crack watch it was cracked day 0 [within 24hrs of launch]. but if I look at the NFO the 3DM crack was released 10 days after launch. 1,371 days ago and the game was patched. There's been several hundred changes to the steam db entry since then, with the last update to a mad max sub id being 24 days ago.
So there's no excuse to not have patched out denuvo. Unless they have a contract saying they're not allowed to in which case why would the contract not include other platforms like origin
the only way big or AAA publishers can stop pirates from cracking single player games is by implementing an always online DRM or UWP type DRM on PC (MK11, Anthem, Forza Horizon 4, Fallout 76, Call of Duty BO4, Dirt Rally 2.0, Diablo 3, Need for Speed 2015 etc) and trust me no one likes it. Pirates are gonna keep pirating, they're not going to buy the game either way.
I have no problem with Denovo either. As long as it doesn't affect game's performance in any way I'm good. This might sound strange but I also don't mind when publishers collect your data to study market analysis or whatever reason as long as they deliver a proper game. People who do not like such DRMs must check about it beforehand on Steam store pages or on the internet. However I do hate the fact that some games that require an always online DRM even on single player modes.
don't worry mate, you'll able to buy all games on Steam when the contract between Epic Games and the publisher who signed exclusivity with Epic Games after 12 months of release. You should be thrilled because not only you'll get your game bug free with patches but it'll be cheaper on Steam because it'll probably get a price cut. I can't picture Deep Silver listing Metro Exodus for full $60 on Steam when it returns on 20 February 2020. Borderlands 3 however will return on Steam after 6 months of worldwide launch instead of 12 months which is also great.
BUT you don't have access to the WBplay features...meaning no Scrotus decal and no on-line strong hold scrap.....all the DLC can't be put in the Steam version also.
The Origin version loads smoother and I don't get the split second freeze when driving long distances...that was somewhat remedied by changing the 'write to' properties in the .exe permissions.
the Origins version has less storms tho' for some unknown reason.
