Absolutely no sandstorms

The only sandstorm i have seen was the one in the beggining of the game, so far 14 hours gameplay and no sandstorm occured. Is that normal?

I've played around the same amount as you have, and I've had two or three, maybe four at most. Got murdered by debris in one of them...I'm assuming it's completely random, but I'm not far enough into the story to be sure of anything. Just been messing around doing random side missions and stuff.

Sandstorms are random and hit when you least expect them. Usually when you are far from safety.

I must be missing an important armor upgrade for my car, because I don't last long in storms at all.. I can barely snag one of the crates before my car's "health" is gone. If I try to get out to get one, I don't last long that way either before I'm being blown all over the map. The storms (and their loot) are usually gone before I can retrieve more than 2 of them.

You don't need to snag the crates...just ride the storm out and then drive up to them...there's usually 3 in every storm...if a crate is stuck up the side of a hill or something then snag it down.

Careful what you wish for. Sandstorms can be fun, Lighting Storms can be straightaway deadly. And I also saw one with flying, burning cars. Or was it just a very heavy version of the Sandstorm? ^^

I found more storms in GutGashes territory then others. South West

The Big Nothing has tons of storms. Enter at your own peril.

Good to know. When the game warned me about getting too close to the big nothing I thought I had reached the boundaries of the world.
Like some games tell you "turn back now" to prevent you from running into an alpha wall.

There are a few unmarked places in the Big Nothing, some have scraps,some have ammo, ferals, etc(and sand storms)

Just got the upgrades to take down the Jaw and enter the barrens. Got into the area where i had to take down the thunderstick throwers while about 5 vehicles were charging at me........about that time I got the storm warning and could not fast travel due to where I was.

Needless to say I killed the vehicles and got the thundersticks down, but the lighting storm took me down........the storms always seem to happen to me at the WORST possible time..lol
