How do i enable Vulkan on Linux?
It's the only reason i bought this for linux and it's not even visible in my launcher.

It gave a warning that my HW may be unspoorted but i guessed that was because i'm using a GTX 1050 with stock 375.66 nvidia drivers.

How can i force the game in vulkan?

I assume it's already enabled by default on linux now, since my fps is way to good to be running OpenGL.

70-110 fps on a 1050ti

Thanks it works, now i can select vulkan in the launcher.

Although my fps counter from glxosd is gone so i can't check the fps difference...

Hi,

Instead of glxosd you can use the steam FPS counter and/or the flag --feral-benchmark into advanced launch options.

This will be launch the game in benchmark mode and you will be able to compare easily Opengl vs Vulcan performance.

Oh man ! I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread, this is WAY better ;) I used to have slowdowns in medium, now it's smoother in very high.

Any similar tweak for other Feral games ?

Thanks :-)

As far as i know currently only mad max & talos principle (which i own aswell, highly recommended) support Vulkan on Linux.

Not really since this is not a "tweak" but the game using a more efficient API then OpenGL.

Thank you for the tip, I'm about to test the performance difference now! :steamhappy:

You'll see the difference is tremendous ! Meanwhile Feral has completely switched to Vulkan for their last ports (F1 2017, Rise of the Tomb Raider...).

OpenGL performance exceeds DirectX if that's what you're saying.

If that's the case then the game has bugs that should be fixed, the performance should be identical or better to that of Windows.

Do I still need the "livelongandprosper" trick to play vulkan version in this game in linux?

I just installed the game and I dont see any vulkan option

Has anyone noticed how the game running on vulkan looks way more dark? I guess thats why its still in experimental, since its not working properly
