Sandstorms...

I played this for a few hours on ps4 a few years ago and saw at least three sandstorms, but ive been playing all day today and haven't seen a single one, whats the deal?

They're relatively rare. It'll happen eventually. I just had one happen a little bit ago while trying to farm boarder spike kills...

Depends what region you are in, and what missions you are doing at the time. They will emerge and you probably won't like them when they happen.

That mission where ou have to defend gutgash's stronghold? Is that a defenite storm spawn because as soon as I started it a lightning storm came in...

@Corvette3 When in a stronghold get to a metal container and remain till the storm is over. Running around will get you killed, The storm may help you complete the quest.

Running around in a storm – yes, dangerous, but that's mainly the debris; lightning is more easily avoidable due to the few seconds' warning. It's probably worth going out a few times in storms for the big crates, particularly once you have the harpoon.

I haven't had too much experience with storms as I just bought and started playing this game two weeks ago but I'd definely go out once you have the harpoon and can get the big crates. If I remember correctly they give you 100 scrap each which can help you out big time, especially early on. Just make sure your vehicle and Max's health doesn't go down too much. I've had a few close calls with my vehicle.
