Start up bug
When I first got the game, which is shared from a friend, the game played smoothly with no errors, but after a few times of playing, I'd say 3 times, the game stop working. I restarted it and it just stayed on a black screen with a loading mouse. I have tried uninstalling the game and re installing, but it just didn't work. I need help ASAP. This is a beautiful game and fantastic game play, and i would love to play it immediately. Please help!

1. Download Decompress Config.zip from the link and put the extracted file somewhere (i suggest just storing it in the game directory)
2. Rename the file config.ini to config.lua (this is the filename tropico 3 uses and this utility is looking for that filename only) in the Imperium Romanum directory
3. Run Decompress Config.exe and load up config.lua, Click the open with notepad button.
4. Find the line that reads isfullscreen = 1 under the [engine] heading and change the 1 to a 0 save in notepad and close the utility
5. Rename config.lua back to config.ini
6. The game now works in windowed mode, you can now specify the correct resolution :D

What operating system are you guys using? Have any of you tried using compatability mode?
Azurious Oct 31, 2014 @ 10:39pm
Yes, I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro

Me too...

Hmm, well that still leaves my second question. Do you guys have windows compatability mode turned on? Some games have problems running on the 8.1 in compatability mode. I had the same problem on rome total war. I suggest checking your compatability settings, and if that does not work, make sure all of your computers drivers are supported by the game. I'm running the windows 8.1 too and I'm having no issues running Imperium Romanum without the compatability modes.

Same thing, and I am a bit of a noob so how can I play in compatability mode?
