The spanish developers of FX Game Studio are working on HD version of this game: The Great Battles of Rome Imperivm HD Edition for Steam.

Nowadays, they have an Open Beta to test the game previously to the final release in the the next months.

So basically Imperium Romanum gets a remaster?

That is nice, especially that there is none like Imperium Romanum in the genre, this game is so unique and so relaxing to play. Will be enjoying the Remastered version on my new PC. ^^

The Great Battles of Rome: a game that I've bought over 10 years ago.
Excellent game, with a (almost) flawless AI. Still playing it on my laptop.

I have thousand of hours in this game, but it is incredibly unbalanced and prone to crash.
Never tried multiplayer, luckily.

I hope they don't release just a HD version.
There are huge balancing issues and faulty files that must be fixed.

Is this steam testing still going? I'd be number 1 buyer once the game would reach steam edition. Not only played Celtic Kings and the two sequels thousand of hours as a kid, but no one made such a fun strategy game ever since. :D

Hey, just read your message, i was looking for it myself and i found the website of the game https://www.imperivmworld.com/como-jugar/ if u own acopy of the original game, here u can get into their discord and write to a specific developer @Jordi, and ask him for a key.
I can't tell u if it works since i just did this process and am waiting for Jordi to answer me, but i'm confident he will
