If your fighitng undead .. Holy spirit = Best
If your transmuting armors... Gatchan = Best
If your fighting no undead and want extra damage... Skull = Best
I actually found one of those rings in multiplayer.. .BALLER
Yep,there should be a ring similar to that in single player,I belive it's found on the 6th dungeon in multiplayer.
As for the choice,I guess it depends on wether you use weapons or not. After all,+60 damage to melee is a great load of damage, something that you surely don't want to miss.Unfortunally,in both cases you can't get evrey single item in the game no matter the choice.
I took the ring, since there are only two pets I use anyway (the skull and Gatchan).
Plus: with a bit of luck you can find the ring as random loot in the castle; had that happen to me once. Also the ring does not increase damage for bows so if you focused on bows or magic it won't be helpful.
The ring is really nice, but the dragon seems to be a good passive fire damage source (I don't have the skull etc. yet)
edit: My Swordfighter is lvl 14 now and the ring was a good choice. I don't "need" pets any more and got the skull (which also does 100 damage per shot vs living things).
EDIT:
Actually it is the best ring in game.
