i cant get library key (i killed third boss)

what is this!?
i don't want restart game.
There were nothing events when i defeated big tree monster who third boss by some fire ball .
nothing
Nothing happen thing when i defeated him
i cant go next stage
help!

Happened to me, found this fix which worked - tempt the thieves to appear and then kill them until you get the key. Drop an item on the floor and climb a ladder, when the thief comes to take it, drop on him and kill him. It took about 10 of them before they dropped it for me.
