"the crow" challenge

Hi there,

I remember there was a quest for obtaining any kind of magic where you have to find a black feather. To beat the game without killing any crows, you will have to skip this quest. Am I right, or are there any other ways to obtain a black feather?

If I remember correctly, it was the magic-obtaining-quest in the library.

you can finish the crow challenge (reach that room in the tower) and get that feather afterwards.

You can't get mind magic while trying to finish the Crow (I didn't miss it while doing the challenge anyways ;)

If you want to do "The Crow" you have to skip on both Frost and Mental magic because both require that you kill crows: twice for the sapphires they stole and once for a feather.
