How to beat bubble mages

So I'm in the last part of the game where there are the bubbled mages. I got past the first room with the use of a Madness scroll that turned all foes against each other. The next room however, I'm not sure how to get past that.

I'm specced for fire, axe, healing and robes/armour.

I figured that out, using the Madness scroll, but I don't have any other means to pit enemies against each other.

Here's what I did:
Position yourself so that you can only see the highest mage on one side. So, below the middle platform to the right or left. Watch the mages cast their protective bubble. Wait a few seconds, then cast sleep on them. If you can, take out a few skels with a light spell. The mage should be asleep in his bubble, and you've already killed his blockers, so you should have a clear shot. When the bubble wears off, the mage will still be asleep, cast a fireball or shoot an arrow, whatever, then immediately cast sleep again. If you don't put them to sleep after the fireball, they'll use the bubble again. Just repeat the steps if this happens.

Take them out one by one, and take your time.

I figured Sleep would be the answer, now I'll just need to grind some mobs to get level -.-

I think it's just the level 1 spell

I know it's a level 1 spell, I just don't have a point in it....

Good way to get experience is to kill spiders near tower shop.

And other ways to kill bubble mages is to convert skeletons on your side with level 1 arcane spell or with fire spirit, I think it's level 10 in fire.

I have Fire Spirit, haven't used it yet. I'll try that and if it doesn't work, I'll just go spider hunting.

Late to the post, but incase anyone else needs help: Use the Skull pet. He can't damage the undead (ignores them) so he'll always target the bubble guys. And becuase his attack is not a projectile, he can damage them.

1.) cast heat aura, then invis, and run up and park next to the mage on the lowest platform. DEAD
2.) cast 3 of them fire elemental spell thingies and go smoke a joint while they kill everyone for you
second room
1.) cast invise and get under the platform in the middle of the room on the right side
2.) cast fire elemental and go smoke pot while they kill people for you, repeat on other side if needed.
