The game's not dead, you just need to know some people, Leviathan is busy as all heck.

FFXI is not dead, but you do want a group to do things. Try poking around in the official XI forum ( http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php ) and I'm sure you can find some people to group up with.

Because you're posting on Steam Discussions instead of on the official forum or blugartr or an active Group page is why it took over a month to get any replies.

FFXI has been around for a decade, long before Steam Discussions existed. The player community congregates mostly around long established locations, the only major exception being the relatively new Official FFXI Forums - and those only because, well, they're official. The dev and community relations teams are active there.

Allakazham, blugartr, FFXIAH, KillingIfrit - these (among others) are the places where you will find the FFXI community alive and kicking.

Hopefully, Tetsuol, this explains to you why the FFXI community - and FFXI itself - is far from dead or even dormant, yet you still did not receive a response in this particular location for slightly more than a month. This is not a major location of gathering and community for FFXI.

Though, when Seekers of Adoulin comes out, there is a (small) possibility that might change - but it takes players acting to make this an active part of the greater FFXI community.

Well, I first want to offer you my heartfelt congratulations on beating Maat! It's a mark of passage that every veteran FFXI player has completed, and I'm glad to welcome you to the ranks of Maat Mashers.


However, I'm afraid I have to burst your bubble a little bit -- the BCNM clear time records are reset every time there's a server maintenance, unfortunately. It's really annoying.
I know that can be disappointing to find out, because I had the same thing happen to me with Warrior G5.

I'd like to hang out with you... though I quit this game in 2007.

Nice game overall. Not the best MMO out there, but it does have a solid fan base. So much that even Square can't get away with the "FFXI +1" attempt that was FF XIV.

I'm starting to miss it somewhat again, but that's probably because of school and life getting back to a slow pace after the dust settles for a bit.
Not enough to re-activate still, though. I doubt if I ever will... although, if by chance I got notice that my old LS is getting back into the game, I'd be there for sure!
Fat chance of that as well: my old server (Pandy) is no more.

So whenever I get that itch to re-activate, all I do is go to Allakazam (sp) and read a few posts from people that decided to quit playing and I remember my resolve once more. Keeps me going. That and some great single-player games, lol

Tbh I just have it because it came with one of those Steam sales done during X-mas where there's a bunch of games thrown into a bundle.

Anyway, good luck on Carby server. Never been.
