How to learn this game as a newbie

I am a beginner to NBA 2K24.

All I could find in the menu was a tutorial where you can practice a few things like dunks and spins and layups.

What about everything else you can do, like calling plays, defensive schemes, alley-oops, passing, special moves, etc...

Are the tutorials basic and limited because I chose rookie skill level?

How do I learn all the nuances of this game? Can you point a newbie in the right direction?

you will learn playing man, just upgrade your player and u will see what u can do with your build. Open the controller configs and there are the buttons for calling plays, defensive schemes, alley-oops, passing, special moves, etc...

The reason the tutorial is basic is because the level of customer service and care by 2K is the same: BASIC.

Thanks, I just have a few followup questions:

1. In PGA 2K23 also by Konami, if you reconfigure your swing you can never back the original configuration, you can never reset the 'factory settings'.

Is there anything in NBA 2K24 similar that I need to be aware of?

2. Are there any moves that aren't available to me because I'm in rookie mode?

Not that i know of. If you don't like it, the refund process is easy

and all moves are available from the start. it's pretty intuitive......it's not like you're running down the court specifically concentrating on a, say, euro step style layup....it just kinda happens as it happens and as you become more accustomed to it you begin to start reflexively knowing what you're gonna get when you're on the court just through trial and error.
