Diaries of Kenshi - Cao Cao - Chapter I, II, III & IV
I'm incredibly addicted to kenshi as it scratchs my adhd brain just perfectly... here's something that went out of it

POV Character: Cao Cao (Serval)
Game Start: Freedom Seekers (All servals)

Cao Cao is a character that I suit myself ingame. THIS IS MY FIRST POST ON STORIES

Also the main mod I used is Servals on Nexus.

I use a large amount of mods, which I do mention in the writing naturally.. I'm not going to share/credit every content I mention because it simply would be too time consuming, especially when I'm here just to share a fan-story with ever changing set of mods.

All the text was written in Notion, because It's more as a second thing I do while I play, it helps my adhd brain to remember what happened each day. (That's why it has poorly format and specks from Notion such as "**" and stuff.)

Anyway. Good reading, I'm still playing the game and writing as time pass. I posted this discussion at day 400 (the end of Chater IV - Lost River.)

+_____ # Prologue [Section I]

**Pre-Meeting**
I bought this empty book from a group of nomads a long time ago, since now that I’m heading to Waystation Hook, where I was invited for a meeting with other servals, I felt it was a good time to start writing about what I’m doing and what I expect to do, as a diary, just, not every day.

## *First Year*

**Day 1 - The Meeting**
When I reached the Waystation’s gate, just past the river and a cliff, I could already see two Servals chatting with each other, it feels truly exciting to see them from afar, one strong-looking woman and a small kid, both shiny yellow servals, a raven one like me, and a white one, on the back.
After staring at them for some time, another serval appeared from behind me and greeted me, a tough-looking soldier, a white serval. He invited me to the bar with all the other servals.

We had a wonderful talk, but later another one came in and began our talk regarding his plan, and why we were all invited over here, he called himself ‘Moon’ and said he was looking forward to recruiting all of us to a pack, his definitive objective was an outpost, but first, he plans on stabilizing our lives.

I wasn’t able to know the other guy, a white skinny guy, but I met Zara, the strong woman, and her little brother Zan. They were very welcoming, and considering I’m at the edge it seems like a good opportunity to join them.
We had a great day at the waystation, we got to know each other a bit more, and I was able to have a long conversation with Moon, he seems like a smart fella. As for the white one, I asked about him, but they only call him ‘Tooth’, and says he’s a thief.

**Day 2 - Prepare and Leave**
We traded with the shopkeeper in the Waystation Hook then departed with our rusty swords and straw hats. Moon wants we should head towards Catun, stating that there is a plot we could use as our quarters, in the meantime.

After we passed by Clownsteady, Moon guided us southeast from here.

**Day 3 - Unknown relations**
After the night we reached the Manhunter base, they didn’t look very welcoming, but we stopped by their bar for a drink or two.
We left to the north the same day.

“The slave markets doesn’t give me any good memories”, said Zara, Tooth agreed, I don’t feel good either but Moon and that Soldier spoke with the Slave Trader, I didn’t try to overhear what they said, but they seemed close. I saw Moon giving the trader a small bag with cats.
I looked through my own bag and noticed that I had less than 100 cats.
Tooth said that servals speaking with a slave merchant wasn’t something our kind should do, he was sickened by them but didn’t do much after the soldier intimidated him with his deep stare.

We left the market and camped for the day on the edge of the Wetlands.

- -----------[Chapter I - Catun Era]

# Catun Era

**Day 5 - Catun gates**
We left the South Wetlands and I can already notice Catun from the high bonefields;
“Right on schedule”, said Moon. As we reached the gate the guards stopped us and made some questions, I answered them honestly. They searched my backpack and then told me I could proceed.
Zara and Zan went to the bar while Tooth went to the police facility. I went with Moon and the soldier to see the place they got. A simple Storm House, one large space, and a fine roof.

We slept on the floor shortly after, but I was wondering what I could do to make this dwelling more comfy, I only got a little candle on for now.
I had a small chat with Zara about her brother while he was napping on her chest, she said that her parents were slaves, she expected to stay with them, though she ran away with the little brother, and said she met Moon in Drifter’s Last.

**Day 6 - Research**
Moon assembled his desk inside the house, he said he will begin to research some important things for the party.
I went out to hunt with Zara and her little brother.
Tooth then came home with his sack full of cats, I was surprised, the soldier seemed angry, but Moon calmed him down telling him it would aid their cause.

**Day 8**
At last, I bought a sleeping bag, the group also set up some tents on the roof on top of our beds, the soldier also arrived with a lot of materials, although I don’t know for what yet.

**Day 11 - Tailoring**
After some bounty hunting, Zara bought the small shack on the front with the cash she earned, she told me she loves tailoring, so I helped her with arranging the tailoring shop.
We had our first customer the same day, wanting to fix her coat, Zara did it greatly.

**Day 13**
We went out for some drinks, Zara got drunk and later collapsed on her bed.
I got to know more about the soldier, his name is Myr.

**Day 18**
Zara’s shop is doing great, she plans on using leather soon instead of fabric.

**Day 20**
Moon called everyone for a meeting tonight, he has planned our first expedition and said he got intel about some useful ruins and also some trading prospects.
He wants us to visit Flats Lagoon, and then turn towards Shark. He intends that it takes roughly a month, considering the weight.

**Day 21**
Myr assembled some training dummies, and invited me to try some, I said I wasn’t very good with melee weapons, and he went over to Moon for a talk.

**Day 24 - Preparation**
It’s been nice having a roof over my head, but soon I’ll go do the job I was assigned to, I prepared my backpack and clothing, now that I was able to get some better ones.
Myr and Moon came by with a rifle, when I saw the ‘Tanegashima’ my eyes got big!
I said I haven’t touched a rifle for a long while, so I went out to train.

**Day 26 - First Expedition** 🔴
****Me, Myr, Tooth, Zara, and Zan went for the expedition that Moon planned, he’s gonna stay in Catun to take care of the house and finish his research. I helped him a bit with them before leaving.

**Day 27**
We reached Mourn, but we don’t plan on staying for too long, so we left the same day.

**Day 28**
I’ve never been to the Lagoon, it is quite exquisite, although it reminds me of the Floodlands, for obvious reasons. When we reached the platform we bought and sold to make a profit, Myr also used some of the money to buy a small shack on the platform, like an outpost.

**Day 30 - First ruins**
We got to one of Moon’s points of interest, an Ancient Lab in the Burning Forest, we had to take shelter inside it for a while during the acid rain, but we had to be careful not to alert the robots protecting the lab.
Tooth searched the whole building and got some interesting loot.
We went north passing through another ruin, but nothing special, just some abandoned farm.

**Day 31 - Shark**
I felt a very warm breeze once we reached The Swamp, I’ve been here some times but it still feels quite weird. We were ambushed by some swamp ninjas but Myr and I were able to knock them off, Tooth broke his arm during the fight, so Zara picked him up.
After passing through Grayflayer we went to Shark, where we settled in the bar for a while.

**Day 33**
Some guy here started flirting with me after saying this was his place, I don’t even know what to say, he bought me a drink, which was nice, but I’m not sure I should trust someone calling me ‘cutie’ in a place like this.

**Day 39 - Mud Town**
After Myr was done with his business, we left Shark, but before we went south as planned, Myr said we should visit Mud Town up north. We did, and then left south to Swamp Village.

**Day 40 - Another Lab**
We found another one but didn’t focus much, Tooth went for the loot again, but we left right after, Myr warned us about the outpost close by, so we had to take a longer route in-between the Grid and the Wetlands.

**Day 41 - Clownsteady**
We are now going south towards Clownsteady, I’m writing this on top of the right cliff of the Grid, it has such a view, I would be able to see Catun from here if it wasn’t for the High Bonefields.
**** Now that we are in Clownsteady I can take a break and have some drinks, we got some rations for the next leave.
While in the bar I saw Myr talking with someone, Zan whispered in my ear that the guy was a Slave Trader, I was skeptical. As soon as they finished talking, Myr rushed us to leave and go to Waystation Hook.

**Day 43 - Slave Farm**
After the waystation we went east, I wasn’t able to process why Myr took us to this Slave farm, but Zara was being overprotective towards Zan, she said they didn’t want to enter.
When I went in with Myr, I noticed why she didn’t want to, it is a slave farm.
I tried asking Myr why we were there, but he didn’t respond, he simply talked with the slave trader, I was quite shocked to see him so casually in here. But then I saw him coming out of the gate with another Serval, a black one, wearing a rug and shackles. Myr ordered Zara to carry him.

**Day 45**
We just passed close to the Manhunter Base, it makes me feel weird. Myr made us take the south route, instead of taking the road over Slave Markets.

**Day 46 - Back Home**
I can already see Catun from here, and we are close to reaching it, we just need to pass through the valley.
When we got home, Moon greeted us with a smile on his face, Zara and Zan went to the shack they own, while for me, I just laid down for some sleep after all this time.
As for the freed slave, he slept too, quite a lot actually, I wanted to change his rug for some clothes but I didn’t want to wake him up

**Day 47 - Yabast**
The slave Myr bought is called Yabast, he is quite tough, and slightly serious, but not much. He has a similar appearance to Tooth, quite agile, but stronger.
We had a chat with him, talking about the group, he simply said that if we brought him, he was ours. That quote made me feel bad, but I didn’t say anything, Zara looked mad.

**Day 49**
I went to the bar with Yabast, he was too obedient considering I said that he is free now, he said that it didn’t matter, he just wants to help me for now.
Myr has been training since yesterday on the roof, and so is Zara.

**Day 54**
Moon started planning another expedition, but he says that since it’s gonna be a long one, he will delay it for a moment

**Day 60**
Zara and Zan went out to hunt some beak things, I wanted to go with them but Myr made me train some more.

**Day 64**
Moon came to us to warn us that we train for the next expedition, he says that this time it was on some areas that even he didn’t go to, so he will go with us to analyze and map everything.

**Day 65**
I invited Yabast to the training roof, he seems to know how to handle better a sword and defend himself.
I went with Zara to the Scrapmasters, we brought some newer weapons.

**Day 66**
Zara personally made some new clothes for Yabast.

**Day 67**
Moon said that we should make more money before leaving… said we will need a large quantity.
Myr convinced Zara to give a rifle to Zan.

**Day 68**
We had a party tonight, not loud but, a big dinner, we got to talk about our stories, I didn’t tell much, although I don’t have much to say really.
I learned that Myr is wanted in the Holy Nation;
Zara’s mother is still alive somewhere;
Moon studied in World’s End, and met Myr when he was fleeing.

**Day 69 - Nice**
I just woke up with a headache today, everyone’s tired from last night’s drinking, even the city’s medic came by to see if we needed any help, but we said we were ok.
Moon is still sleeping, so is Yabast.
Zara doesn’t let Zan drink, so he is still sober.
Moon says that the next expedition plan will be done soon, so we better prepare already.

**Day 70 - Here’s the plan**
I asked Moon where he wants to go this time with the expedition, he answered that our final destination will be the Capital, Heft, but on the way, he plans to build a better quarter for the group, either on Heng, Brink, or somewhere close, we will also need to visit the northern cities too.
I asked why he mentioned such places, and he said they are close to various slave posts. In any case, moving such a long way will be a mess.
I asked what we will do with our quarter here in Catun, and Zara’s shop, he simply answered that we will still look forward to it.

**Day 72**
We are packing our things… ready to leave tomorrow.

**Day 73 - Second Expedition** 🔴
**** I had one last drink in one of Catun’s bars;
I’m now at Catun’s gate with Myr and Yabast, we are waiting for the others so we can leave now.
We left at 5 am. Moon is leading us for now, we now go north.
When we reached Mourn, we brought and sold in the Tech Hunter’s shop. We left soon after.

Now that we are in Flats Lagoon I can get some rest from all this walking for today. We sold a lot of stuff to the residents and sellers, now with that money we brought better equipment, especially rifles, now all masterwork quality ones.

We will rest for the night in our shack.

**Day 74 - Tua**
We left Flats Lagoon, Moon said we will go west for a settled nomad camp in Shem. later we will come back to Flats Lagoon.

We reached the nomad camp, there were some houses and an animal shop, I think I understand what reason Moon had to bring us here. I’ve never been to Shem, but it’s incredibly beautiful, the mix of desert dunes and water, is simply marvelous!
Moon came back with a Garru, a little pack beast, he called it ‘Tua’.

**Day 75 - Spring**
We arrived at Lagoon again tonight… we will take some rest and then leave in the morning.
Moon is leading us east now towards Stobe’s Gamble.

We were attacked by land bats when we were walking through the mountains, Tooth and Yabast were heavily injured, but we reached Spring safe and sound… For some reason the Anti-slavers don’t like us, which is strange as we are fighting against it, right?
I’m glad Yabast is doing fine, he is recovering, but we may have to wait for him and Tooth to wake up.

**Day 76**

Finally, Yabast woke up and ate like he never did, we are getting ready to leave Spring in the morning.
Moon didn’t expect the Stobe’s to be infested with so many Land bats, he thinks we should head north, instead of going east through The Crags.

We’re passing through what Moon calls ‘the unwanted Zone’… this place gives me a weird sensation, and the abandoned structures are exquisite. But I can easily see Brink from here.

It started to rain when we were approaching the city.

**Day 77 - Brink**
The people of Brink were very welcoming, we had a great time at the bar, we analyzed the city, and also the house for sale, but that’s judgment for later, we left the city for now.
Black Scratch is our next destination, we hope to reach it before noon.
We reached Black Scratch just before sunset.

**Day 78**

Moon recruited some bodyguards to follow us for the next day…
He says we are in the middle of our expedition, but he warns us about the nearby slave traders, they don’t comply much.
We left in a rush before sunrise.
Moon’s taking us away from the roads again, taking a way through Stormgap Coast now, we passed by a village, though we didn’t even bother getting in.
As we were almost leaving Stormgap, I noticed how blueish it is this other place, The Gut. From the top of a cliff we could see the Market and a farm far away on the other side, Moon reminded us that the farms in Heng are slave farms. We can’t reach Herf soon without passing through.
Moon says the Gut would be the perfect place to set up a village if it wasn’t for the beak things all over the place.

We reached the slave farm in Heng, from here, I can already see the vast Great Desert. when entering the slave farm, Moon and Myr went to their shop as usual, I’m still curious about what they talk about with these traders, but this time they didn’t come with any other guy.

Zara got mad over the number of slaves, but Myr calmed her down and said that she shouldn’t be talking ill in front of them.
We left during the night instead of waiting for the morning. Stumbling across some nomads on the way.

**Day 79 - Heng**

We reached Heng, the trader’s capital.
While we were at the bar, Tooth suddenly called us while hiding, saying he got something extraordinary, he showed us some Leviathan Pearls!
Myr was extremely angry at Tooth for doing such a dangerous steal, but after he calmed down, he just asked if anyone had seen him, Tooth denied it. The police got very alarmed after what Tooth did, but we weren’t suspects now that we are recognized by the United Cities.

**Day 80 - More Slaves**
Moon planned on staying in Heng for a week, but since Tooth couldn’t stop getting in trouble, we are leaving today.
We were ambushed by some rebels, Zan got slightly injured by a shot, but he’s doing fine now.
As we approach the Great Desert, Moon stops us in a stone camp, another slave trader’s paradise, this time Moon called Zara to go with them. After some time, they came out with two servals, Myr was carrying a teenager, and Zara carrying a middle-aged woman, I asked if they were related, Myr said they are mother and daughter.
Moon’s complying with the slave traders made me question how we could help the slaves of our kind, was buying them the best decision? It is a bloodless act, but, should we?
I talked with the girl while Myr carried them, she’s called Fly, her mother’s name is Ukil.
Before we went to Heft, we noticed a new city called ‘Salvage’. The people in there looked very similar to us servals, but, a bit different, weirdly, we were all very curious.

**Day 81 - Heft**
After some talk we left the fennec town and got back to our route towards Heft, we need to get there before dark.
Now we enter the Great Desert, and Heft, the capital of the United Cities.
We had a lot to do now, both buy and sell, we made a fortune out of our travel loot, and also, a ton of quality equipment.
Heft is a big city, but considering its location, I didn’t feel so well, it’s even hotter than Catun.
Moon expects to stay here for the next day to do his own business, in the meantime, I’ll go with Zara and Zan to get some better clothing for our new members, Fly and Ukil.

**Day 82**
Not much happened since we settled in the city, I got to know more about the two girls, the mother used to own a hunting shop, and expected to make it up for her daughter, until the slavers appeared. I asked about the father, she lowly said they took him to another camp, so she didn’t saw him in years.

**Day 83 - Bark**
Myr prepared the two some equipment, I told him about her hunting past, so he gave them such equipment, a desert sabre for Fly and a Naginata for Ukil, the woman tried to stop Myr from giving Fly a weapon, but the girl insisted, saying she was mature enough to handle.

We are ready to leave Heft, we went east, until we reached the coast of the desert, we will now go north as planned, on the way out a group of soldiers said they were there to follow us for the next 3 days, so we are still being followed.
We reached Port South, another slave post, we just passed through it, Myr and Moon didn’t even look out for serval slaves in here.
After some more dunes, we reached Bark, and now it’s time to rest. Now that we are at Bark, Yabast wants to discuss some matters tonight, he’ll need to go west towards the Northern Coast. In the meantime, we are looking over the buildings for sale here in Bark.

**Day 84 - Someone to meet**
Yabast clarified that he had someone to meet the northern Deadcat, so he’s splitting up with the group for now. Moon told Yabast our next destinations so when Yabast is done he can try finding us, he left this morning.

**Day 85**
We are getting ready to leave Bark, we’ll go southeast, Moon warns us we are reaching dangerous territory soon, not only because of the Holy Nation, but also because of the cannibal tribes that exist close by. I can see Sho-Battai on the horizon. When we reached Sho-Battai we went straight to the bar to rent some beds for the night.
Myr has a bounty on the Holy Nation, meaning he can’t be seen by the authorities over there… I will see how I can help him with that.

**Day 86**
We are ready to leave Sho-Battai, we will now go west, and now the tricky part begins, we will enter Holy Nation territory, Myr will have to find an alternative way for himself.
When reaching Bast we were greeted with a warzone, we quickly ran south to avoid the conflict.

We are almost at World’s End, Myr won’t be able to go further into Holy Nation territory, he will stay until we arrive back. This means he will also be there to find Yabast once he’s back.

**Day 87 - World’s End**
While we were at the bar I could see Tooth filling our Garru with stuff, when we asked, he didn’t mention he was stealing a shop’s whole stock. Myr rented a bed in one of the bars, the rest of us is leaving World’s End, we will go south into Holy Nation, but first, Moon took us to a village nearby in the Hidden Forest. We sold some stolen weapons Tooth had got.
We passed through Okran’s Arm. We were attacked by a beak ogre, Tua got very injured after falling in the valley, we’ll have to stop somewhere.

We stopped by a Holy Farm tonight, but they do not want us to stay here for too long.
Zara and Zan agreed to buy another Garru once we have the chance.

**Day 88 - Okran’s Pride**
We reached Okran’s Pride this morning. As we approach Blister Hill, Moon tells us to keep our guards up and stay alert. Every second we were in Blister Hill was a bad one, everyone was looking at us like animals, I hardly could see any woman in the place as well. These people aren’t very welcoming.
Zara almost got into a fight with some men who were insulting her. The Holy Nation has a disgust for women.

We left after an hour, Moon seemed to be in a rush, he didn’t explain much other than that we would go south now.

**Day 89 - Stack**
We continue our travel, now in the Border Zone, we are getting close to a Holy mine, but Moon doesn’t seem to have the same contact with the local slavers as he had with United Cities slavers, as we were screamed at when passing by the camp, some guards tried to chase us but we ran faster.
We are getting close to Stack and bought another Garru from some nomads, we named them ‘Toa’!
Moon wants to settle for tonight, tomorrow we will head to The Hub.

**Day 90**
We left early from Stack after Ukil insisted that Moon make us leave the Holy Nation already, the looks and harassment from the military were too hard to ignore.
Before we went for The Hub we passed through a Hive village on the edge of Vain, a beautiful place with tall purple flower-like trees., we greeted the locals and sold some stuff, had our first meal of the day, and got to know a bit more about the Hive, we took shelter from the acid rain, then we went straight back on the road because we couldn’t handle the smell of the Hive Village.

We finally reach The Hub when the sun started to rise, when we came to the destroyed town bar, we saw Myr and Yabast, we passed the night in the bar, slept on chairs.

**Day 91**
We are now leaving, now all 9 of us are grouped again. Moon showed me the map he’s been using to mark our destinations, we are now going south, towards Squin, now on Shek territory.
We bought some more rations from some traders, Moon calculated our earnings and we still haven’t made much profit, but he says if we keep our food stocked, we have time for more earnings.

Before we could leave the town, some dust bandits attacked it, but were easily defeated, one of the defeated ones was a serval, Myr, and Moon convinced the guards to take them with us. They are still sleeping in Zara’s arms.

We passed through a Waystation in Stenn Desert, south of Squin, before heading east towards the Swamp. It started to rain before we could reach the closest Swamp village, but that didn’t harm us much, we’ll have to sleep here under the tents tonight.

**Day 92**
We waited and slept until morning, but got ready as soon as the storm stopped.
We reached Mud Town and then Shark right after. We didn’t stay too long there either, we just went to the southern swamp village before leaving the swamp.

**Day 93 - Almost Home**
Today we reached Clownsteady, and after all this travel, It kind of feels like home in the United Cities territory, I didn’t expect to make such a reputation with them but Moon’s the diplomatic one.

We left before the afternoon, Moon expects us to reach the Slave Market before night.

We camped for the night.

**Day 94 - Back Home**
Home sweet home.
Moon and Myr went straight to rest, Yabast wants to show Fly and Ukil the city.

Zara locked the dust bandit she had got on a pole we got on the corner.
I visited the bar and had great drinks with some friends I haven’t seen all this time, Yabast and Tooth came too and we looked like 3 drunk sailors.

**Day 95**
I talked with the dust bandit we saved from the shek, he doesn’t want to talk much, but seemed hungry enough to ask for some, I said I would only give food if he told me his name, he said he didn’t know, so I started calling him ‘Dust’.

**Day 97**
Myr thinks the new members have been idle for too long their last 2 days, he made them start to train their ways of combat, Fly and Ukil were out as well, Dust on the other hand seems to know little of combat, but Myr insists on teaching him, Myr seems to like Dust’s determination.
Zara and Zan are both making up for their clothing shop.
Moon has got back to his research, I asked to join him and he accepted, so I’ve been helping him since.

## *Second **Year***

**Day 100 - Drunk Sailors**
Moon called everyone for a party tonight, it’s our first year together, and we already completed 2 successful expeditions, made allies and liberated 4 new members already.
When at the bar, Moon threw a toast for everyone, Zara was emotional over how safer she felt now that she could also see her little brother fight for himself, Tooth didn’t say much, but was happy we were all together.
Yabast also got up to speak, and although he wasn’t with us since the start, he was glad, and thankful to us for freeing him, so did FLy and Ukil. Dust on the other hand felt like an outsider still, I convinced him on enjoying the party nonetheless.

We had a great night, got drunk, and now not only 3 but all of us looked like drunk sailors partying, we called for many rounds, not only for us but also for the people in the bar, the party obviously called the city guards attention, but didn’t get us in trouble.

**Day 101**
I woke up with a hangover but am getting better slowly, everyone took today to rest and relax.

**Day 104**
Myr has developed a good image as a trainer, and a teacher, he’s been focusing on teaching us to train daily so we stay in shape.

I’ve had the feeling that we have been quite crowded in the house, I spoke with Moon about our finances and if we have enough cats for at least a small quarter, he says we do, but we gotta stop buying expensive property for now.

**Day 109**
We haven’t had much change in the last few days, Moon didn’t start planning any new expeditions yet as well, Zara thinks we are gonna get a bit more monotone for the next few weeks.

**Day 112 - Stagnated**
I’ve been feeling quite stagnated lately, but exercising has helped a lot.
We got to know more about each other today, learned some more about the slave traders, Dust himself said that he and his old crew were getting ready to ransack some farms before we got him from the Shek.

**Day 115**
Myr has given Dust a polearm, a heavy one.

**Day 119**
I got quite sick and had to rest for the day. Moon finished our research, he plans on preparing our next expedition soon.

**Day 120 - Planning**
Moon announced to us that we will prepare to leave Catun in the next weeks. Tooth invited me and Myr to show us something. He took us to the city tower, where he showed us a thief faction.
The Thief boss explained that we could ally with them for protection and a place to rest in most major towns. We didn’t agree on anything yet, but we will consider it.

**Day 122 - Meditation**
Once I got more attached to Yabast, he taught me and Tooth to meditate, Myr came by and showed his ways of doing it too.

**Day 127**
Moon left Catun yesterday, he got back today with a map with a single X on Wend, the river between Okran’s Pride and Rebirth. I asked him what that place is, he said he spoke with a good fella who told him about a special armory of some kind in there, he expects us to go there on the next expedition, he then got to Myr to tell more about it, as Myr and Zara are the only ones wearing heavy armors.

**Day 132 - Where to go**
Moon called us for a meeting, he’s almost done with the next expedition plan, he says that he expects us to be ready to move everything from Catun over to the north, we discussed about which city we could move in.

We agreed that being in the middle of the desert wouldn’t be a good idea, even if Heng and Heft were capitals, Myr suggested the house in Brink, or maybe Bark, although Bark is in the extreme north.

**Day 133 - Voting**
We continued our discussion from yesterday, and since Moon plans on building a Serval outpost, he suggest Brink as it is less far from our options, Tooth asked what options we have.

Moon took his biggest map and put it on the table, explaining the places we could build a permanent camp. He plans on building somewhere no nation has power over.
We looked through the map and truly there aren’t many safe places without another faction;
“The Leviathan coast?” Too north, too remote, too far. “Northern Coast”? Cannibals.
We passed the whole night overthinking a place to go, we could make allies with the Swampers and settle there too, but we all agreed that we don’t like the swamp’s environment too much, except for the trees. Then we started looking for places with trees, that’s it.

Moon called the meeting off for the next day, said he will see what options we have

**Day 134**
Today I and Zan played some music for fun.

**Day 136 - Voting 2**
Moon called us to the bar, where the table for his maps was bigger, he told us the options we have to settle by:
The Gut, The Hidden Forest, The Iron Trail, The Vain.
He showed us the positive aspects of each, including the neighboring areas. In the end, we still haven’t chosen any, we are all divided;
Ukil and Fly think the Gut is good for hunting, but dangerous since it’s infested with beak things, Dust told he used to live in a small camp in Vain, Zan, and Tooth like the Hidden Forest.
Myr reminded Moon that the Iron Trail doesn’t have much Fauna for us to exploit, so he threw the option off.

Moon says that we are almost reaching a good agreement, The Gut is good for hunting, close to slave traders which we could exploit, and also close to Brink, one of the cities we plan on moving to. The Vain is peaceful, quite remote, but overall safe compared to the Hidden Forest, which is too close to the Holy Nation, which blocks our option to reach the United Cities, but the local refugees would make good allies.

We are now divided between the Gut and the Vain, the Hidden Forest was discarded as it is too close to the warzone in Bast, and since cannibals ran through that area.

Tooth asked about the Howler Maze, and why Moon didn’t talk about it, Moon simply replied “Crabs”. Moon said it’s good we now only have two options, and called off the meeting, he now wants us to decide between Vain and the Gut

**Day 137**
Moon ordered us to start packing our stuff, dismantling our furniture and selling unnecessary materials. He says we will move to Brink instead of Bark, this saddened Yabast, they had an argument, but Moon clarified he is the leader and chooses what’s best for the group. Tooth wanted to intervene but I stopped him.
Tooth paid the Shinobi Thieves for us to join them, we are now allied with them. He did that so we could easily sell our stolen goods.

**Day 138 - Moving Out - Preparation**
We were able to sell most of our useless stuff, I prepared the Garrus backpacks as well. We began to dismantle the furniture today.

- -----------[Chapter II - Brink Era]

# Brink Era

**Day 139 - Moving Out - To Brink**
We have finished packing, sold our house, and are now departing from Catun. Myr will lead us towards Brink.

**Day 140**
Thanks to Tua and Toa, we're making progress much faster and we might even reach Brink today despite carrying all this weight. We've arrived at our new home and Moon has talked with the seller. The house costs 24 thousand cats and its size seems reasonable compared to our old one in Catun, but I'm eager to make the most of it.

**Day 141**
We find ourselves in a stagnant situation. We didn't obtain much material by dismantling our furniture back in Catun. We are currently sleeping in Brink's bar because we don't have materials for beds either. Therefore, we think we will need to go on a trading spree to acquire building materials. Moon stayed awake all night planning, so we can start it already.

Our Garrus are consuming too much of our food stock, so Moon decided to sell Toa, the youngest.

**Day 142**
We are leaving early for our next expedition, Myr is leading us with Moon’s guidance, as he didn’t have time to explain our destinations.

After we left, a question was raised among our group, Yabast asked for all of us:
“What if we turn into nomads for a while?”
That made Moon reflect, we wouldn’t need to worry about construction materials;

We were able to reach Heng fast this time, we ran a marathon. Moon’s already going to discuss this with the traders.

We left Heng during the night, heading towards Waystation Grey Des. We bought something quite intriguing, two robot spider backpacks, we didn’t want to buy them, but we had already seen some of these robots, and we thought, “Unless”.

**Day 144 - Armour King**
We are reaching the north of Skiner’s Roam, after we cross Okran’s pride we will reach the river between the mountains. We had to swim a lot until we reached some ruins, one barely raised from the river with a trade sign. Now I am intrigued.

When we entered we met someone named Armour King, I talked a lot with him, he’s been here since the Second Empire, which says it all when we saw his masterwork pieces of equipment.

I saw Tooth trying to steal some stuff but I made him stop before King could’ve seen.

**Day 145**
We slept in Armour King’s shop, we left this afternoon after selling and buying with Armour King.
We are now going east, leaving the Holy nation towards the northeastern coast. Moon also bought some extra armor so we can sell them for a bigger price in the desert.
On the way we were attacked by some outlaws, we were powerful enough to fight them, but suffered in numbers, Zan got heavily injured, which left Zara enraged, turning the fight around.

Zan is in a coma and is recovering.

As we pass through Spine Canyon, I see Stoat on the horizon.

**Day 146 - Stoat’s bar**
We slept in one of Stoat’s bars.
We sold a lot of armor we had got from the Armour King, and made quite a lot, Moon also went to the Slave shop in Stoat, but they didn’t seem to have any servals locked.

I inquired him about his relationship with slavers, he said he was disgusted by them, but said money is the best friend of any slave. His idea quite struck me with a bit of dishonesty, but I can’t think of an alternative right now.

On the way north, we met some nomads, who sold us a small Pack Bull, female, we’ll need to sell Tua as she’s too hard to be maintained. Fly said that bulls are more powerful combat-wise and that even tho they aren’t as strong as Garrus for our trades, they will be better to defend themselves when we can’t.
Fly named the bull ‘Poh’.

We stopped by a Stone mine, where we sold Tua, Moon also attempted to try finding any locked serval here, but none. We sold Tua.

We left to keep going north, now onto Sho-Battai.

**Day 148**
We reached Sho-Battai and made some bargains, went through the entire market selling and buying, Moon seems satisfied with the profits we made and the stuff we bought, the group feels safe as we have tons of food too. We too bought some new clothes and capes, as a lil luxury.
Now we’ll just wait until Zan wakes up to leave towards Heft, we don’t have anything to do on the extreme north this time.

**Day 150**
After walking all morning we reach Heft.
We bought a large number of building materials, and now we’re going south, now onto Brink again. We passed through Salvage and should reach The Gut tomorrow.

**Day 152**
It’s early morning, and we are passing through The Gut, the blueish nature of this place is beautiful, but yet frightening from all the beak things nearby.
We were attacked by a group of Beak things, we had to settle a camp in one of The Gut’s islands for the day, Zan got heavily injured again, unlucky guy.

**Day 154 - Stuck in Gut**
We stayed at the camp for another day, Zan and Dust are still unconscious when we reached Brink.

**Day 155 - Decorating**
We finally reached Brink and are preparing to furnish our house.

**Day 160**
It’s been almost a week since I didn’t write, I’ve been busy with the guys decorating and furnishing the home, we made it feel quite clustered, but filled with all the functions we need, from Zara’s clothing shop in front to the research facility and also for our rooms, we have bunk beds and a smaller room with 3 beds, Moon gave me the honor to share a room with him and Myr instead of a bunk bed, the other didn’t care much as the room was mostly a room for planning.

**Day 163**
We did our first attempts at electrical manufacturing, we stood up 2 small windmills on top of our stephouse and set up a great table for our meals. we even had space for a small meditation and reading room as well as a bathroom, in which we made a bathtub. We are finally feeling comfortable and at home. I also asked Moon if I could get some pots so I could plant, he agreed.

**Day 164**
We are finally able to research some engineering books, and also mechanisms for defensive weapons, we want to prepare a secure outpost from the start, even a fort before an outpost.

**Day 165 - Training area**
We set up our rooms, and now the house is fully equipped, with a training area too.

**Day 167 - First Moisturizer**
We set a moisturizer, now we have clean water for once.

**Day 169**
Myr has made good use of the training room, he also made sure everyone used it too, he trains us like a true teacher, and expects us to be able to survive both alone or together.

**Day 173**
Today we planned on making more diverse food, we had a great dinner.

**Day 179 - Stagnated, again**
We haven’t made any significant improvement lately, we just had a common routine, Zara with her shop, Zan with tanning, Myr with teaching, Moon with researching. We already feel at home.

**Day 181**
As our second year together is coming, we prepare already to have a great party, not *that* eccentric, but still, big!

**Day 185 - Raining Season**
It’s been raining acid for the past week here in Brink.

**Day 186**
Our days have been the same for a while, not that I can complain, plenty of good food, and good company, Moon started to train more with us instead of just studying.
Moon is also planning more on our next expedition, when asked about his outpost plan, he says that the time will come. I tried asking myself, he only told me the next expedition will be for prospecting.

**Day 187**
Tooth’s been sneezing a lot. I’ve been too.

**Day 188**
Yabast is wondering about what we will do with all this training if we ever do.

**Day 198**
Two days until the second hundred, I’m not that excited, but I’m hopeful.

**Day 199**
We are making the preparations for tonight, the table is full of delicious meat and good grog and rum. Ukil is truly a great cook, and she even taught me some lil recipes, which is nice.

## *Third **Year***

**Day 200 - Second Year**
It's midnight and we shouted in commemoration tonight. I had a great chat with everyone. Myr seems to be opening up more and being less timid, and Moon as well. Even Tooth was more talkative. We heard stories from Yabast, Dust, Fly, and Ukil. It was a great night, and I can't forget the food. I can still taste it.

Zara and Zan are already sleeping, so are Fly and Ukil, but the rest of the boys are drunk as sailors, I might join their chanting, I’m part of them after all.

**Day 206 - Extra work**
I’ve been very busy lately, Moon said this year we should work as much as we can so we can make up to the next step of his plan, we are now divided into special groups towards our house, Moon said it’s a test to see our learning and priorities;
I am with Ukil and Dust on cleaning duty and cooking. Zara, Zan, and Myr are in the workshop, and Moon, Yabast, and Tooth are in research, although I’m in research as well. And Fly is on all of them, voluntarily.

I haven’t seen Poh in a while, I asked Moon about it, and he doesn’t know either.

**Day 209**
It’s rainy season again, raining almost every day, it feels quite nice when you have a roof.

**Day 210**
Myr said that we are in good shape and that from now on we should keep it that way.

**Day 218**
Zara went out to mine, but after a hostile group attacked her, she came to rest, but later she got back to work again.

**Day 219 - Here’s the Plan**
Moon called me, he told me about our next expedition and how crucial it is for us to decide where to settle, he says we won’t go too far as the corners of the continent, he drew a circle showing the area we should prospect, he says although The Gut and The Vain would be great deals, for its location, we should see if we can find less threatening locations.

**Day 220**
Moon announced that it was time for us to prepare our packs, he expects us to leave soon.

**Day 222 - Ready to Leave**
We’re packed and ready to leave, Moon said we will leave tomorrow.

Moon told me and Tooth that although we are going to search for a good place to settle, we will also go after research artifacts, such as ancient books for his studies. This means that we will still stay in Brink for a long while after the expedition.

**Day 223 - Third Expedition** 🔴
**** Myr woke us up early so that we could prepare a good breakfast, to raise everyone’s morale for the expedition. We all ate and had a great time, we talked a lot, so much that we almost forgot about our travel. when it was time, around 6 am, we left, Moon is guiding us north.
I was hit on the head when we were ambushed by bandits, I woke up in the afternoon when we were in Heng.
We slept in the Shinobi Thieves tower.

**Day 224 - Tall, Thin, Robots**
As we left the tower in the morning, we passed through the market and met a skeleton caravan, I asked what were those tall thin robots, “Sailbacks” they said, ancient machines. Moon said he has already seen them long ago but didn’t think he would see any again.
Moon said that it would be a great bargain to have mechanical “animals”, as they don’t eat, nor stink. He asked the Skeleton about his price.
When I heard that I felt how poor I am, but for Moon? He simply bought 3 robots from the merchant. 40 thousand cats in one go.

When the merchant changed some stuff in the robot’s gears, I looked at Poh and knew that she was going to be sold, so I already started taking off stuff from her bags.
We sold her to a nomad caravan in the market for a very large price before leaving Heng.

**Day 226 - Codenames**
Only now I noticed that Moon wrote name plates on the robots with ink, ‘PTk-01’ and ‘PTk-02’, the small processor tankers, and ‘Sailback-01 Type. C’, the sailback.
When I asked about our next objective, Moon said that we will reach Narko’s Trap, and everyone seemed nervous about the decision. When we reached Narko’s trap, Moon ordered us to camp down the cliff. He talked with Tooth and sent him off to the lab.
I overheard them talking and seems like Narko’s Trap is surrounded by Holy Nation men, who don’t allow anyone to enter the lab. We all went in, and took advantage of their army attacking the robot spiders, we looted the place.
We were then stuck inside as the whole building was guarded. But Moon took one of the Robots and messed around with its gears until it rebooted, I was surprised as I didn’t know how, but he took control over the robot spiders.

We stormed out of the place by running them over with the spiders.

When we were far enough for the Holy Nation to ignore us, we had time to repair the robots and make them function properly. Moon seems very satisfied with our small ‘robot armada’.

**Day 227**
We’re still walking, now we are going south, Moon’s been analyzing every little place we come across. I’m starting to do as well, so we can find a reliable place to settle.
On our way west, Tooth went away for a bit and came back with a bulk woman, he introduced us to her, “Nivo” he said, his cousin. She gladly joined our squad, saying that it was a long time since they met, she asked about Tooth’s parents, but that left him in a bad mood.

I talked a bit with Nivo, she was strong just like Zara. When we camped she and Zara seemed to have liked each other.

**Day 229 - Fog Islands**
We passed through The Hub and now are going west.
We are back in Vain, it’s much nicer to see the flora up close, the color is unique for the whole world. Everyone’s amazed by the place, and the view of the valley. But Moon warns us that although beautiful, Vain isn’t the least threatening place.

We prospected the area, it is abundant in all resources we would need for a settlement, the acid rain still annoys us a bit, but with the right equipment, it doesn’t seem like a challenge.
Before going further west, Moon is taking us north, through Dreg, he says that we could settle here if it wasn’t for the Fog Islands nearby.

As we passed around the Fog Islands, Moon told us about his wish to reach Mongrel ‘again’. That ‘again’ made everyone surprised, the questions began to rise but Myr kept everyone quiet. He said that he was ‘from there’, Mongrel, and he fled in his teenage years to the Holy Nation, where he met Myr.

**Day 231 - West Coast**
We’re stopped by another hive village, one at the coast to rest.
I went with Yabast to the nearest river, we threw some rocks for fun.

**Day 232**
Still, in Vain, we crossed the acid river and are now yet at another Hive village, this one quite nice.
We’ve been sleeping here for a while now, taking some rest, Moon plans on us leaving soon tomorrow morning.

**Day 233 - Admag**
We left the hive village.

As we went south, we found another ancient building, that seemed like a lab, as it was hostile, only Tooth went in and looted the place.
We are now leaving towards the Shek Empire, Moon says that although the acid rain, Vain seems like a good place, with good game to hunt as well, and not so far from civilization.

It’s almost nighttime, and we are almost reaching Admag. We slept in the Shinobi Thieves tower.
People seem to know about us the ‘Last Pack’

**Day 235 - Spider Plains**
We left before sunrise.
On our way south we came across a skeleton shepherd, he was selling processor units, and a processor tanker like ours. Moon seemed indecisive, we already have 2 tankers, should we get another one?

After some seconds of thinking he bought the tanker, he says that the more storage we have for our nomadic travels, the better.
Everyone’s quite irritated that we have to deal with duststorms again now that we are going further south. Now we are reaching the Spiders Plains.

**Day 236 - Ghost**
While we were going south, we stopped by a ruined village, although still populated with Shek folk, Moon and Myr went out to understand the place and ended up having a hard disagreement with their leader, who punched Moon in the face, well, turns out he’s wanted by the shek kingdom.
Since the disagreement felt a lot ‘personal’, Moon ordered Myr to take the cretin to the Shek Kingdom and turn him in. He said that we will meet him again at the entrance of The Grid, close to the swamp.

**Day 238 - The Grid**
We camped right before The Grid, again, Moon ordered some of us to go check the workshop in the place, saying it will have artifacts for his studies. Myr has come back.
We reached Clownsteady by midnight.

**Day 240**
We are still going south, Moon said that he will see if there are any more enslaved servals in the south farm. Yabast got quite stressed for coming back here.
When we reached the farm the guards opened the gate quickly, they seem to be respecting our presence. We stayed for some minutes so I was able to fix SB-01.
Moon couldn’t find any serval to free, so we left.

Once we reached the Slave Market

**Day 243 - Burning**
We reached Flats Lagoon, but don’t plan on staying too long.

Moon says we are going back to Brink.
The sun just rose, and we ran, like our lives depended on it, because it almost did, if we didn’t reach Brink before sunrise, the light beams would start to fall on Venge while we were there. Thankfully we reached it in time.

**Day 244**
We are back at working home, Myr is teaching Nivo for now, explaining our ways.

**Day 240 - Routine**
Now we’re back at our calm life in Brink, we are still designated to groups, like cleaning duty and stuff, Moon is now focused on his studies as his life depended on it, which is quite inspirational.

**Day 245**
Tooth left for a small trip east, he says he has someone to meet. I overheard him talking with Myr before, stating that he doesn’t come back soon we should go find him.

**Day 246 - Meitou?**
I asked Moon about Tooth, he said that he will try to steal a ‘Meitou’ grade weapon. I asked about what that meant. He told me that all weapons, including ours, have names given to them, he told me Myr’s Nodachi is an Edge type, while for the one ‘Meitou’ Tooth’s trying to get, he only tells me that it’s some ancient name, probably the maker.

I chatted with Dust a bit, he told me about his family, I told him about what I know about mine, although I lack memory of most of mine.

**Day 248 - Moon Cleaver**
Tooth came back from his trip, he showed us his catch, a ‘Moon Cleaver’ he said, the best in existence, he gave it to Zara, as a ‘gift’. Moon ordered Myr to teach Zara about the cleaver, since unlike the heavy weapons she’s used to, the cleaver is a hacking weapon, great against robots.

I asked Tooth how he knew about the place, he said it was secret, but jokingly catcalled me saying that he would show me someday.

**Day 250**
Myr told us that he doesn’t have many more things that should be useful for us to learn for now, so he’ll focus on the newbies more for now. Moon talked with me about how we will need more workforce to settle, even if they lack combat skills
He plans to send me and some of us on a small trip to find enslaved servals so we can free them for our cause.

**Day 252 - Overwork**
Dust fainted today after training for the entire day, Myr hasn’t allowed him to train again when he woke up, I agree with Myr as too much is too much.
Fly and Ukil went to buy food from the bar.

**Day 253 - Indecisive**
Moon reminded me of his plan about getting serval workforce for our outpost, but he is quite indecisive about when we will need them, if we should just get them for labor, or train them before we settle. Surely I couldn’t be as certain as he was, so I just said we should wait, we have new members, we aren’t just six servals alone, we are 11, not even counting our robots.
When I said robots Moon looked at me with an idea in mind, he told me that maybe we will need more robot spiders.

**Day 256 - Firearms**
We’re back to our common routines, I’ve been studying how to take care of firearms.

**Day 259 - Maintenance**
I’ve been maintaining the robots working, they still get some rust in this rain, and since we don’t have much space to put them inside, I feel the need to.

**Day 260**
I took some rest today.
Dust and Yabast called me to fish together today.

**Day 263**
I asked Myr to teach me again so I can practice with him. He accepted.

**Day 267**
Tooth left again, said he was going to do a trip to the south, I asked him if it was the same reason he went east that one time, he told me I was right.
He told Moon this one trip will take some days. Instead of just overhearing the conversation, I stepped in, asked where exactly he was going to, he told me he was gonna try and steal precious weaponry from Gorrillos, and if he does that, he plans on giving the Southern Hive a ‘visit’ as well.

Well, I gave him some ration packs before he left.

**Day 271 - Sick**
I got sick, and probably will have to rest for some days, Yabast got very worried and is making me food, insisting on bringing it to my bed.

**Day 275 - Free Time**
Now that I’m in bed I had time to reflect on how much time I take working, and not really seeing what others do in their free time, I don’t leave too much free time for myself.
I noticed that Zara and Zan go to the bar after closing their shop, Tooth, Dust, and Yabast go fishing sometimes, Fly and Ukil always hunt for meat, and even tho Myr uses a lot of his day towards training with Zara and Nivo, he reads and cooks with Ukil.
Sometimes I relate to Moon for overworking, always trying to be as productive as possible, but I also notice how that makes me go mad sometimes.

Maybe I should try something different.
I talked with Yabast about it; He told me that once I get better I should go hunting with him at some point, maybe Fly and her mother would teach us something too. I agreed.

I asked him what else he does in his free time, he told me about his routine: guarding the house and going around to see if everyone’s ok, he likes to fish, but he likes hunting more, so sometimes he goes with Ukil and Fly.

**Day 276**
I'm feeling slightly better, although still fatigued. I was able to repair some small gears in PTk-02 that were falling and making it tremble.
Today, Zara made us some vegetables. Yabast insisted that I ate more than a bowl to "stay strong," which felt quite lovely.

**Day 277**
Tooth has left for another trip, this time, he went with Dust and Yabast as well.
Yabast bid me goodbye for the time being and wished me to rest until I got better.

**Day 279 - Recovering**
I’m feeling much better lately, still quite sick, so I went back to studying with Moon, and training with Myr.
I’ve been able to clean the rust off SB-01.

**Day 281 - Amputation**
As I got up from bed today, I heard Fly screaming for help just outside. When I ran to see what was going on, I saw Dust with his coat covered in blood.
He looked at me with a hint of embarrassment. As I turned to look at the door, I saw Zara and Nivo dragging Yabast inside.

When Moon led them to his bed, I saw why they had to bring Yabast in - he was heavily injured, his legs extremely damaged. Ukil came to the room and said that they had to amputate his legs. She performed the procedure while I held Yabast from behind and gave him fabric to bite to ease the pain.

**Day 282 - Mechanical Limbs**
Yabast is still unconscious. We were able to remove his broken legs and Dust rolled them with cloth and set them on the table. His screams made me so worried that I can't sleep tonight.
****Yabast woke up, and I’m trying to help him go through the day, he’s quite sad about his legs. I can’t help it but I seem more worried with him than he seems to be.

We talked a lot, he even makes jokes about how I’m the one taking care of the other now.

Myr and Tooth came to me and told me we could still help Yabast somehow, they explained to me that he could use mechanical limbs. I went to Moon to learn more about it and he suggested that I could go to Black Scratch to buy said limbs.
I’m preparing to leave to Black Scratch to check the robotics workshop in there, I told Yabast about what I’m gonna do, and promised him I’ll get great new legs for him.

**Day 283 - Scout Legs**
I’m already from Black Scratch, there I got 2 scout legs for Yabast. They are quite light when compared to other skeleton legs I saw at the workshop, they were very expensive, I used all my money for them.

I showed Yabast the mechanical legs, I told him they were the best I could find at the shop, the shopkeeper told me they are faster than normal legs, and won’t need rest after long marathons.

**Day 285 - Procedure Done**
I called Ukil, as a medic, I hoped she would know how to settle the mechanical legs on Yabast, she said that she has no experience with such, so she thinks I should talk with Moon about it.
Moon seems to have more experience with such procedures, he will help.

We went to Moon and prepared to set his new legs, we set the bedroom the same way the day he came back, Ukil stayed close to deal with any bleeding, Moon explained to me what to do and I set each leg on Yabast with ease.

Yabast tried to walk after we installed his new legs, but he was too tired after everything, so I advised him to rest. Moon told me that now that one of us has mechanical parts, we will need a way of maintenance, like a repair bed.

**Day 286 - Repair Bed**
Yabast was able to get up and walk, I helped him get upstairs and we ate together on the roof.
I finally finished making the skeleton repair bed with Dust and Moon, Myr also helped with the heavy materials. We put Yabast in it and let the bed do its job, it adjusted the legs on Yabast, he said it was slightly painful, but the adjustment made him walk better. He said that walking without feeling the ground is quite strange.

**Day 287**
With the end of the year reaching Moon expects us to be ready for the next step of his plan, he clarified that we won’t form the outpost yet, but we will make preparation. Zara questioned why we passed the last 3 years preparing and still won’t form it, Moon says that we have time to think about it.

**Day 289 - Lovely**
While I was cleaning PTk-03, Yabast came to me to ask if I would maintain his mechanical leg like I maintain the robots, I laughed, but didn’t deny it.

**Day 290 - AI Cores**
Moon ordered that, Tooth, and Yabast go to the Deadlands, to a shop called Scraphouse, he told us he needs AI Cores for his advanced research, he gave us a large pack full of cats, and ordered us to leave soon. I asked why Yabast had to come if he was still recovering, he said that needing to walk would make him learn better than staying home.

**Day 291**
We’re setting off towards this Scraphouse place.

**Day 294 - Scraphouse**
We’re back from the Scraphouse, the Deadlands felt quite exquisite, a very polluted place.
Yabast says he’s now used to walking with his new legs. We could find some cores, 25 thousand each, we bought as many as we could afford.

**Day 296**
With the end of the year very close, Moon asks me to help him with his research, he says that he’s getting close to some really complex blueprints, just looking at his papers makes me feel dizzy, but I agreed.

I invited Yabast to see our studies, he came, got confused as well, but was interested.

**Day 299**
We’re preparing our yearly commemoration, Moon seems very satisfied with his research, and finally took a break.

Yabast and I went out to hunt with Ukil and Fly as he told me before, he showed me some tricks he learned with the mechanical legs. He fell occasionally, but I made sure to keep him well; even when some gears got broken on his leg, I fixed it right away.

Everyone’s having a good time, we are all gathered around the table, good meat and good rum. Myr is very open today, we all felt weird seeing him laugh. Yabast insisted on sitting close to me.

Before midnight, I went out for a walk with Yabast, we sat along the river and had a great chat, I felt slightly different. Maybe I’m having to feel for him, but I’m not certain.

## *Fourth **Year***

**Day 300 - New Year**
Midnight just passed. My head kind of hurts, Yabast advised I went to bed already.

Once I woke up, everyone was sleeping.

**Day 301**
Moon seems tired, a bit more than normal.

**Day 303**
I passed last night with Yabast, we slept on the roof.
I got quite sick because of the cold wind.

**Day 305 - Cook**
Yabast asked me if I would like him to cook for me, since I didn’t deny his request, he went for it. and cooked some meat for me. He didn’t let me get up from bed before eating, he still seemed to be worried if I was sick.

**Day 309 - Packing**
Moon called us for a meeting to announce that he is finishing the last necessary research we will need to establish an efficient outpost; He states that he finally decided where we had to settle.

He led everyone to our room and showed his board, full of maps, drawings, and details of his prospecting breakthroughs. He announced that we will settle in Vain.

Some of us had doubts about Vain as it is too far from slave trading towns, where we could find enslaved servals, which made The Gut a good option, but Dust thinks that we shouldn’t build a free settlement so close to the slavers. That thought made everyone’s mind;
The fact that Vain is far from the slave most slavers meant a truly safe location for our people.
Moon also showed us that we could later on build a camp in the Gut for the iron resources we will lack in Vain, he thinks that said camp could be a stop for the freed slaves right before they travel towards our remote settlement.
After much discussion, we all came to an agreement as for the Vain settlement and the Gut outpost.

**Day 310 - Dismantling**

Moon is mobilizing everyone, we’re dismantling the furniture to sell the leftovers and to sell the property. I’m packing our food alongside Ukil and Yabast, now that we’re almost ready.
We were barely able to fit everything we had in our packs and our robots.

**Day 312 - Last night**
The stephouse is almost empty as it was before we got here. We finally dismantled the last partition, Moon wants us to take a good rest at the bar tonight, as tomorrow, we will set off towards Vain.

------------- Chapter II - Foundation Era

# **Foundation Era**

**Day 311 - Leaving Brink**
It’s early morning, I’m sitting beside Brink’s gate, waiting for the others.
After finally locking the door and giving the key to the barkeeper who bought the property, everyone came to the gate as well.

We left Brink, and the United Cities, for now.

**Day 316 - Birth of a town**
We finally reached the frontier between Vain and the Shek, we will now camp by the river, and study hotspots Moon marked on his map. We’ll prospect further.

We set up a camp in the hotspot that looked more favorable by the river, with small iron nodes and a lot of copper, a hive village east, and Admag at the south.

**Day 317 - Foundation** ⭕
**** We wanted to make a landmark to state the foundation of our outpost, we set up a small stone lantern on one of the eyots.

When asked what we could name this place, Moon looked around for a moment until he asked us:

“What about, Last River?”
The name seemed perfect.

- -----------[Chapter IV - Lost River]

# **Lost River**

**Day 318 - Industry**
We are now setting up essential infrastructure, such as a stone mine and iron drills, Moon’s blueprints make it easy to set everything in place quickly.

**Day 320 - Workforce**
As we finish building most of the industry, we notice we won’t be able to defend our base as we keep production lines working. So, Moon plans on sending some of us to find labor just as we had planned before.

Free slaves, find dust bandit servals, anything that would give us more workforce.

**Day 321**
Moon is setting up a route for us to find servals and to buy materials, such as iron, which are quite scarce in Vain.

**Day 322 - Slave route**
As the fastest ones, Tooth, Dust, and Yabast were sent to the route. Yabast hugged me before leaving, saying he won’t break a leg like last time.
He left with the others onto the Slave Market in the South.

**Day 323 - Cannibals**
This place is starting to take shape, we built a tower right on the hill, making it visible from the river valley.
We had to endure an invasion, cannibals came from the north, but we were strong enough to deal with them.

**Day 324 - Tasty Fish**
Dust has set some fishing rods by the river, close to the kitchen. He wants to fish and help Fly with the cooking and drying. Surely fish tastes much better than vegetables and simple rations, I love it.

**Day 325 - Lights & Fences**

We are now illuminating the place, setting up light posts around the settlement.
A raid of cannibals attacked our settlement, but we were able to defend unharmed.

We also set fences that block swimmers from the other side of the alley, this way we won’t need to worry as any raid from the other side will have to cross our bridges.

**Day 328 - Newcomers**
Yabast came back, I noticed he was quite injured, he said that since they passed through the Holy Nation, he was attacked by locals for his robotic limbs. After talking with him about his travel, we all gathered to welcome the newcomers.

**Day 329 - Cannibals, again**
We were raided by cannibals, again.

**Day 330**
Now that we got production lines working and lots of resources.,

The river along our settlement is a natural wonder, both for the fish we eat and its acidic property, especially with the fences we built, it turns out as a natural defense, and we will use that to our advantage once we can raise our walls.

**Day 332**
Moon just passed by with some hiver limbs, two arms, and two legs, that felt quite menacing, but no one judges his possessions when he’s researching.

**Day 336**
As our settlement grows, we plan further where to build better protections, as well as future plans such as defensive walls. Moon called me tonight during his break and told me how happy he was with all we are doing;

He hopes to build walls that protect our kind for generations.

**Day 339 - Fort**
We built a main tower, right on top of the hill, with a prosperous view, after that, we built walls in a circle shape around the tower, Moon plans on this being our military base or some kind of headquarters.

**Day 342**
We are starting to mark where we plan to build our walls, our gates.

**Day 345**
We built more houses, for our townsfolk, Moon expects us to go on and free more slaves once we build more residences, this way we will be able to have much more people.

**Day 347 - Raid**
We were attacked by bandits, who tried crossing our bridges before we could notice, they were able to heavily injure Zara and Yabast, who is unconscious now in the hospital. I’m now by his side, waiting for him to wake up.

**Day 350 - More People**
Moon sent Yabast and Tooth out today, another slave route for us to find our kind, now that we have more shacks for them. Fly has been dedicated to hunting, bringing us food like Dust, who is fishing every day with ease. Zara still does our clothes, she takes care of them as easily as she fights beak things and gorrillos.

I’ve been building together with the rest, now that Moon’s studies are almost over, he too works.

**Day 354**
I miss Yabast, seems like every second away from him makes me quite sentimental, I wish it was easy to tell this to him, although it seems quite obvious. Today I sat down with Tooth in the bar, while Zara served us some grog I spoke with him about my feelings towards Yabast;

Tooth gave me some ideas and some advice, although, in the end, it didn’t help much.

**Day 357**
Maggie went out to gather mushrooms with Ukil, but she lost her arm to a beak thing, Ukil bought her to the hospital fast, she told me about the case and hopes I can install a skeleton arm for her once Yabast comes back. I agreed and talked with Maggie to calm her down.

**Day 360**
Yabast came back, but we were confused as to why he was alone, he told us Tooth bought a safehouse in Heng, where everyone is preparing for the long travel.
He explained that since we are still getting clothing for the new members, they won’t be able to come to Vain with all this rain.

I also called him to help me and Ukil with Maggie’s arm, he agreed, and while he stayed here to get the clothes he would make a skeleton arm for her.

**Day 361 - Amputee’s craftsman**
Yabast had built Maggie a new arm, he oriented me on how to install it, now that he learned how to maintain his own. He joked about me being like Ukil but for robots.

**Day 362**
I helped Yabast pack the goods Yabast would take with him to Heng, I hugged him before saying goodbye again. Seeing him running away feels quite sad sometimes. But he disappears fast in the red fog and between the trees.

**Day 367 - Second Migration**
No one can imagine how amazed I was early this morning;
I was on lookout duty on top of the main tower, at around 7 am when the sun was already out I noticed a large group of servals coming towards our city from the east, I could also notice when further inspecting, that was Yabast’s migration, I rang the main bell we built on the tower and ran down announcing everyone about the newcomers.

We all greeted the new member of our commune, we chatted and got to know their names, their stories. 18 new residents.

**Day 368 - Alive**
Moon seems truly happy with how our town is doing, our city.
After the last migration, everyone was put to certain tasks, now we will start to plan our farming areas and to expand each sector for our industry, be it clothing, armor, weapons, or really anything.

The town is booming with life, now I sit and look at the people walking and working, especially in the bar where we all gather to talk.

**Day 369 - Dust Bandit’s Demand**
A group of Dust Bandits came demanding tribute, we of course didn’t agree to even open our gates for them, so they tried breaking in, which they failed to do so. Until a group of beak things came and scared them away from our walls. Some of them on the other hand weren’t so lucky and were attacked by the gutters, one was a serval, who we bought into our hospital.

**Day 371**
We started to build our walls and gates, it will take a long while, as our project is massive, but with our people, we hope to finish it. Yabast says he will leave again once new clothing is made by Zara.

Po-Narl called Moon and said she could run the bar, as a good cook and a great wine producer, she said. She longs to teach us some culinary. Kumo, a strong farmer expects to teach us how to make decent food as well, from the raw to the processed ones.

**Day 375 - Clear sky**
The rain stopped today, it seems like we are at clearing season, it feels quite hot now without the rain.
I went out with Yabast, we patrolled around while taking up some leaves.

Soon Moon will send Yabast’s group out again to find more servals, as we plan on setting patrolling squads, the idea of only guarding our town pops up for some. Fly and Myr are already doing this job and so is Ukil, who is on the lookout for any medical aid.

I’ve been teaching Zan shooting almost daily, he is almost grown up now and can start guarding the city with us.

Moon wants us to patrol in our free time, as the founders of the city and the most experienced, he wants us to be able to get the folk's trust.

**Day 379**
Life’s been calm, and quite relaxing.

**Day 384 - Sectors**
We are now expanding our city west, building another sector, now that we are almost done surrounding our area with walls, we can get to fill the insides. Po-Narl wants to set up a big Inn in this new sector. Leaving the one she stays in right now to be a small pub.

**Day 385**
Moon sent out another group to find more settlers, this time Yabast chose to stay.

**Day 386**
I got to know more about some folk, Fangfu Fu is now working with Zara on clothing, Gongshe wants to set up a smith shop soon. Kumo seems like a great farm leader, he’s very social. Truth and Uk insisted to be put at training with who now they call ‘master Myr’.

We all got some nicknames from the people, of course, Moon is the leader, and the organizer, Myr is getting to be known as a great teacher, he plans on teaching everyone basic martial arts and self-defense.
Yabast got some calling him metal man, while for me, they call me a poet, mostly because I’ve been writing for a long time now I do it on other stuff as well. Zan is handling really well his shooting training, people are calling him a sharpshooter.

While for Fly, she’s trying to organize a hunting squad with some willing folk, this way we can both protect ourselves from the beak things and get hearty meat.

**Day 390**
The expedition party returned with more people, less than last time of course, but still useful.
We greeted the newcomers and settled them up.

**Day 393 - Farms**
We are now planning our farms for the other side of the river. Vain is a great place to plant vegetables for food, and hemp, which can be used for cloth, or even hashish.

As for riceweed and wheat, we plan on setting hydroponics as we did for devilfruit.

**Day 398**
The year is almost over once again, this time, we’re fulfilling our objective. Moon plans on a grand party in the tavern we just finished building.

**Day 400 - Foundation Year**
It’s been a hard year, to build a settlement is not easy. But the people we met, the folk we got now, it feels nice, feels like home, truly and stable. People are shanting, and I didn’t bother joining them.
Yabast said we could take a walk, I agreed and we sat down close to the memorial of the foundation. He invited me to his quarters, we spent the night together.

- ---------------NEW Chapters will be editted here ------------------------ -
Edit 1- I got quite bored after so much base building, I know the end game isn't just to build a settlement, but I think I may go for a fresh playthrough for a while.
