ITEM STACKING?
hello desert dwellers,
i come here today to place a formal request to the modders... you beautiful, magical modders.
here's my request; would it be possible for you good folks to make a small mod for item stacking? more to-the-point, a mod for stacking dried meat, and other small things, on your person?
the thing is i had a bug going on that let me have dried meat stack 5 dep in my personal inv. and i just about freaked to see that gone... each piece of dried meat needs it's own 4 spots? well, that's silly. so i asked in the discussion threads and found it was just a bug... a bug i very much would love to have as an actual option/mod.
i'm not talking anything OP but some resonable adjustments could deffinately be made.
for example i was also able to stack hundreds of ore in my personal inv. and that's just goofy. that probably weighed 700 lbs lol so that kind of thing isn't what i'm asking for.
anyways TY for your time and any possible cosideration.
good day.

In the Editor each item has a section to change this.
you could also make your backpack add to this even further.

The Item stacks can be changed to whatever you like 1-999 i believe.
you would have to do each item seperate tho. or just the ones you like.

hey!
rite-on. i was mainly whining about food like dried meat and the like stacking in 5's in my personal inv. i've since started simply keeping my items and food in my back-pack where they stack to 50 i believe it is.
anyway. if you can mod food stuffs to stack to 5 in the personal inv. thad'd be sweet. i'd grab it for sure. otherwise i'm good with just using a small back-pack instead.
maybe i'll man-up and try to figure out how to do the mod myself but... i see code and my brain stops :P
ty.

Modding the item stacking involves no code.
The Forgotten Construction Set is a database editor with everything neatly organized.

Start it up, disable all mods except the ones in top section of the start screen, then create a new mod (button at the right of the start screen).

In the list on the left click "Items", then at the bottom of the right-hand section in the window type "meat" (to filter on items with meat in their name), then double-click on the item of which you want to change the stacking. In the item's window under "inventory" change the value of "stackable". Repeat for other items, then save.

Thanks David, I'll have a look at your mod, could come in useful when collecting stuff when I forget to shift drag into my BP and just shift click & it all gets dumped seperately in my inventory. Depending on what stacks I'll likely add or remove certain items in the mod lol ;o)

sweet! yah, i made the metal plates stack to like 25 i think because they are flat but most things will stack 5's and 10's. hope it helps out in sticky situations :)
also, i left alot of stuff just at 1 because of their size and shape... tweek it to your liking and TY.
