Growing Hydroponic* Hemp in UC towns

I'm growing hydroponic hemp in Stoat in the Step house building, Samurai keep rushing in and attacking me but I heard somewhere that the guards AI doesn't recognise hydroponic hemp. Is this correct and if so am i doing anything wrong?

Growing hemp is illegal in UC territory. Harder to grow them in UC cities while samurais are around. Better at your own outpost. You can grow them in Shek's towns, maybe HN's too.

I'd like the recipe to make hydraulic hemp, my Skeletons might find that tasty.

Yes, the guards recognize Hydroponic Farms, it's illegal to grow hemp in most major cities.

Heh they didn't use to. I haven't grown hydroponic hemp in a city since the SE was released but back then it was true, they didn't care I was growing the stuff. Most likely an oversight the devs fixed.
