Spiders can attack while submerged, player can not fight while in water
Same for raptors.

Seems very unbalanced, I hope it is not intentional.

Oh yeah, I remember getting attacked by spiders, going towards bugmaster, while in the water. Same for mechanical spiders up north.

Oh wow, I'm glad they didn't chase me when I decided to swim for safety. I assumed most animals wouldn't give chase across large bodies of water (but then I had a gorillo chase me halfway across the ocean).

yeah this'll remain an issue for as long as animals just walk underwater.

If they were given their own swimming animations then I guess it will solve all problems

Gorillos swim. It didn't actually catch up to my character so I have no idea if it can attack while swimming though.
I'd rather them just not follow in water instead of having a swim animation (probably less labor intensive too). I could understand bonedogs and gorillos swimming, but spiders seems like one of those that would avoid water.
Also beak things, mostly because they run quite fast and having a way to escape them when desperate would be nice; but water in general as a way to break aggro seems alright to me (I guess it could be exploited to slowly wither down animals, but it would probably be really slow and inefficient anyway).

Yeah I guess so, in an ideal world having multiple animations is nice, but it isn't really a main feature at this point. If spider could avoid water that would be great instead of the "I'm an unstoppable machine, and i'm coming to get you" follow ai it has lol.

Oh and break beak things aggro would be nice too, however I was on the West coast of the world, and going into the water was giving me the acid burning action lol, so I swam back onto shore, then as I wait for my guy to heal a bit, I noticed a swarm? herd? murder? of beak things walk into the ocean lol. It seem to kinda suit them, like the long necked dinosaurs being in water.

Though they could just not be that tall I guess lol.

But metal spiders shouldn't swim. Just like Robots...They are metal! Metal does not float...so kind of makes sense how it is.

I'm not sure what metal the spiders are made of but I found this article on a floating metal composite.

Though I doubt it's made of this material, if it was the spiders would just float and probably wouldn't have any control lol. I could just imagine a spider floating in the opposite direction due to current lol.

Well their might be a way to deal with that. I sometimes play as skeletons (the robots) and they walk under water instead of swim. Maybe they can also fight underwater too. I will have to see if that is possible.
