Who is beep?
From my limited play with beep and the playthroughs I have watched all we really know about beep is he was kicked out of his hive for going beep. I have a theory of where he actually comes from.
I suspect beep is a black sheep of the family and is actually a fogmen. This would explain how he managed to get to mongrel. He was likely part of the fogmen for many years and it was only recently he was kicked out. My guess is he was kicked out for 2 reasons, one his color is unlike other fogmen, and two he would beep during hunter and worship. This would explain why people in mongrel scream when he goes beep as there are probably stories of if you hear beeping then fogmen are near as he hunted with them for years and all the people he hunted escaped. It could also explain why he is weaker then other hivers you see as he is fairly young.
I'm probably way off but I've yet to see anywhere in the game where it is mentioned where he comes from, no hives I've visited have said anything or attacked me without reason and unfortunately his dialog is very limited

He's essentially this game's equivalent to Oblivion's adoring fan. The "greatest ever" instantly lost his arm to a dust bandit in my game XD, and now he can waste away sla- uhh I mean he gets the privilege of farming my hiver prince's wheat fields for all eternity while presumably sounding like my alarm clock.

Pretty much every hiver you play as, and every hiver outside of the hive, is a black sheep, discarded and left to wander until either their painful death, violent insanity (maybe fog men are the most common end), or exploitation by a more intelligent race/species/civilization.

I figure the blueish hue of fogmen is simply malnutrition, filth, and disease; as they seem little more than screeching zombie hordes whose worshiping stems from the hierarchy of civilization of their previous life with the princes getting the juiciest of nomnoms, followed by the soldiers, and then the significantly weaker worker drones who are pitifully weak even for a worker drone.

I highly doubt Beep was ever a fogman, because it doesn't look like a reversible situation, and everyone probably screams at him in Mongrel because he follows you around beeping.
I think we all knew a Beep type of person at some point in our lives.

Unlikely to be fog simply because fog are created via some sort of parasite that drives them nuts. Beep is a normal functioning hiver... apart from saying beep, naturally.

I've yet to meet Beep myself, always been wary of going into the fog, seen far too many movies about bad fog, as well as the things in it.

Obviously, Beep is the protagonist of Kenshi™

Yeah, the shinobi guards put fogmen into cages. Why? There is a chance to help them return to normal (and change color). Beep is fully recovered, Mongrel Crazy not so fully
(Really, it's just because that's the AI package they were assigned, like any other gate guards, lol)

mod idea
He isn't a Fogmen, Fogmen are Hivers infected with a parasite, and a parasite wont want to leave its host.
