Agnu missing

I cleared out the tower of abuse and checked the cages on the top floor, but they were all empty. Imported my save, including dead NPCs, and all the cages were still empty, but Ponk and Screamer *did* respawn.

Importing with this box ticked causes all "not ok" NPCs to be omitted from your new save. That includes any which are caged - such as Agnu, Cat, all the uniques in Tengu's tower, etc...

It's quite a destructive action.

Occasionally I would find Agnu near the bottom of the ramp unconscious/dying. This seems to happen if my people got close enough to the Tower to get the building loaded but leave the area without entering it. My guess is when the building loads (or reloads when reentering the zone), Agnu spawns outside the cages and got thrown out as an intruder to die from injury, hence the disappearance. Nowadays, I always check the area near the ramp first to see if Agnu is there before entering the tower.

Ironically, if Screamer puts Agnu outside dying and you leave the area before he dies he'll be considered "okay" while in the unloaded state and be back in his cage on import. The Tower of abuse is the only area in the game that uses a non-urgent version of the put someone in a cage AI. The developer tried placing a higher priority on it but it always seems to get beaten out by the take intruder outside AI goal. Simply replacing it with the urgent version of the cage goal that literally every other squad with cages uses would fix that.

So it was an AI issue. I've wondered why the bosses talked about wanting a new skeleton specimen to experiment on and then chucked my skelly right outside.
