Characters Don't Build Sometimes

So I decided to establish a farming outpost, as my main base location is too arid for most crops. I'm trying to build storage boxes. I have the materials in my inventory, but when I click on them to build them, my character does nothing. Even setting them as Engineer does nothing. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix?

Sounds like a pathing issue to the object.

I would save your game, then load your game. That might fix the pathing issue.

I have had similar issues and save/loading usually solves it.

They have to have the required building materials on their person, or in the specific building materials storage container.

Objects not stored in their marked storage container won't be picked up automatically.

So if they need metal plates, and they don't have any on them, they won't go to a general storage chest and pick them up. If there are some an an actual plate storage container then they will.

As you build up your base the engine doesnt update the games AI pathing correctly- using the Ctrl+Shift+F11 option after EVERY thing you place helps quite a bit.

Its not a total fix all but it does correct alot of these things
