Weapon smith keeps on putting his own crossbow in weapon cabinet
I have a designated smith (for armor, weapons, exc.), and had him training his smithing by making mercenary clubs. He is also a crossbow user (I had him as a katana user beforehand so thats why i have not noticed this before), and I have equipped him with a specialist tier spring bat and Catun No.2 Wakizashi as his second weapon. Whenever he makes the merc clubs, he puts it into the weapon cabinet, like usual, but he also puts his spring bat into it, but not the wakizashi. Sometimes he even equips the merc clubs. He has plenty of space in his shoppkeeper goods bag, so that is not the problem. For now, I have put the crossbows into a metal chest to ensure that nothing happens to them. Please fix this problem, it is so annoying!

I think it's been done that way to compensate for "idiots" playing the game.

If someone was to make a full sized weapon like a falling sun for instance, and the guy making them only had a small or traders backpack that can't fit that weapon, then the primary weapon slot will always cater for it so that it can be moved to storage. The result means that slot is always emptied to allow for this failsafe space & the newly crafted weapon is put in here first, no matter the size.

That's my theory anyway lol. It helps keep the job going or means you can craft at least one of the items you were after.

Unfortunately my theory fails when it comes to armour, as they feel the need to dump their helmets in most cases too no matter what armour you craft lol ;o)

That sounds about right, but I wish the game didn't mess with your weapon slots when trying to put made weapons into the weapon cabinets if you have enough space...

+1

It can be slightly inconvenient. I have gone to explore on a few occasions then realised/remembered my guy has no main weapon, or other guys have no headgear. Then had to run someone back to the outpost to grab all that gear lol ;o)

This seems like a bug to me, I don't think it's an intentional feature. If it is it's a bad idea lol, hope the devs address it soon. The weapons should just stack in the inventory like other goods, then get shipped over to the container in bulk when the character runs out of inventory space.

How can they stack if they don't fit in the first place or there's no room?

I guess you didn't understand my initial post ;o))

Do you have the correct type of bolts in his bag as well? If not they will not treat the crossbow as the main weapon.
