Delete "Your Outpost"
Hello, I built a small shack in a location, but it was glitched so I removed it, found a better location and have started a town there. The old place is still labeled "Your Outpost" how do you remove this?

Edit: I do not mean how do I rename it, I mean how do I remove the tag on the map, and the UI that shows up when I pass by it.

There appears to be an item in the world builder that marks the center of your outpost. I am not sure if it is possible to alter it after the fact and I didn't want to risk a crash so left it alone.

Not sure if this pertains... but when I started a new game my old outposts that I built in previous games are still there where I built them... They are not marked as my outpost but the buildings belong to the nearest city and I cannot really reclaim it so I have to find a new place for my new outpost =(

That raises a question i had. If i have a settlement and want to build a hut with a sales bench in a bit of a distance from that area, but in view range, will it become a new outpost or still be part of the original. Also, multiple outposts? havn't done a lot of experimenting so far but am working on it. I ask this as i have managed to build an outpost in an area that never gets attacked (very rare), but it limits traders. So i want to place just a shop in a heavy traffic area, but i want it to be classed as the same outpost. Or would i just have to build another outpost. Not that its an issue.

I know you can buy buildings in town... not sure... but if you buy a house in town and put a sales counter in there then that could be your store in the town no? Don't know how the multiple outposts works but will be trying out the sales counter in town so I will let you all know.

Open the Forgotten Construction Set that comes with the game, navigate to the settlements, and find the one with the same name as the settlement you want to delete from the map - in this case it's probably "YOUR OUTPOST". Right-click and hit delete. Don't even need to import, just save that and relaunch.

Your answer may be a bit late for theprevious posters as it was nearly 4 years ago lol.
Suppose an answer either way will help someone ;o)

Not directly related but there is an awsome group of buildings name "Ancient Library" on the south west coast and i rebuilt them and would make an awsome place for a starter outpost but cannot build there because "to close to another town". I wonder if any of these places can ever be used for a base in future updates.

If not cool, but this topic about outposts sort of let me mention it. :)

you don't even need to close the game just have kenshi open and save -> open and switch to FCS where you edit and then save -> switch back to kenshi and reload

Be careful if you have multiple bases ... deleting "Your Outpost" will also delete the map markers for your other bases that have names not just the map markers that specifically say "Your Outpost".

Alright I messed up my save ...knew I should have backed it up first. :)

When I deleted 'Your Outpost' it deleted the base information of several bases I had around the map. The buildings are still there but the map marker and more importantly the Town Screen e.g. panel that shows battery power etc. is gone for all the bases. Originally when I would try to build a new building the game would crash. After verifying local files it will allow me to build but starts the outpost over i.e. the old buildings in the base are not associated with the new base even if I build something right in the middle of the town.

Question: I have a separate save from a couple of days prior which 'Your Outpost' is working correctly. Is it somehow possible to bring this 'Your Outpost' into my current save?

Same buildings, no new buildings, characters have just traveled the world a bit and I'd like to save that progress while getting my base to function again, if possible.

Moved the quick.save file from my current save to offline storage, brought over the quick.save from my previous save, re-started the game loaded my current save. Seems to have fixed it?

Not sure what other impacts importing this file will have on the game.

....so far okay.
