One of my playthroughs I was actually allied with the starving bandits just from giving them money when they asked for it, and if you have a base you'll eventually have starving bandits visiting and asking to be fed.
My base had dozens of containers filled with food but the only thing they took was money + they constantly got into fights with other visitors. So it got old quickly. One very cheesy option to feed npc's is to knock them out while in stealth and then fill their inventory with food. Wish they were better ways to feed the hungry.
Be wary of using actual cages for this. Hungry Bandits technically start out neutral towards you, but imprisoning them damages your relationship with their faction, and if you do it too many times then they'll all become totally hostile.
I've been thinking of ways I can make the mod more interactive and based around providing support and assistance to the good citizens of the wastes. (I'm thinking like ability to join them and work as a rep with the ability to get rewards such as gear and followers).
Will NPC's take things from inventory items or the floor? ad the trigger if they're enemies OR allies?.
They can only take food after they have hit the player character unconscious. Or from storage after a raid win. OR buy it from a shop counter
Scenario: 20 armed bandits attack one guy (you), brutally beat him unconscious and steal his food. The guy eventually regains consciousness (if he is lucky to survive the encounter), crippled and bleeding, and the first thought that crosses his mind is, “Those poor, poor starving bandits! Society is to blame for their actions. I must work harder to get more food and money for them in order to ease the oppressed bandits’ suffering and make them happy. I shall work hard so they don’t have to. Next time they crack my skull and break my legs I will make sure I have plenty of good nutritious food for them to steal while I am lying in a pool of blood.”
@Ellorien also add on that that lone guy has no arms or legs crawling on the ground with his chin. Poor bandits
