I need your help with the Ghost-town bug
This is a tricky bug to catch and it just doesn't happen to me. So I need some help, more specific information.

1- Can anyone come up with a series of exact steps that reproduce the bug every time?
2- Can someone upload a savegame for me that has a ghost town in it?

3- Has any of the following triggered it:
-town was populated, saved, exited, loaded again, town was empty
-town was populated, walked far far away, came back later, town was empty, with no game exit or loading during that time.
-town was populated, walked far far away, saved, loaded, came back later, town was empty
-town was un-populated the first visit

(filesize is 181kb) Sorry i had to use this stuipd upload site, couldnt find anything better.

Traders Edge and Eye Socket are empty. Traders Edge was not empty at the bgeinning of the game. Eye Socket was empty when i first got there but that was later on. Didnt notice the empty towns until i needed to sell stuff for research lvl 1 and 2.

I experienced Ghost town in past. It seems to happen when i am in a long session or after a save afrer a few Kenshi days. I triougt i would try to validate filesa and it said there were 3 files reaquired. The important thing to remember is the game never crashed. I can play a short time with no issues at all and exit and validate and get 2 to 3 files aquired every time even after importing into a new game with only characters and research. I havent even started to build a new town yet. I dont know if its related to the bug or not because i dont play very long before i save and exit and reaquire file and import.

i found this to happen when you would kill an entire town and steal their weapons, so if they recovered and got attacked they could'nt defend them selves from attacks and just die, if there is weapons in the shop counters they will grab them but they are almost naked aswell if you looted their armour, plus i scouted the dark area of the map and there is alot of patroling bands within it

Happened to me earlier today. Imported that save with buildings etc and it fixed itself.

On a fresh verified game if you change the game / graphic settings, 2 files will fail to verify everytime.

In my savegame, the cannibal village A got ~280 population... (too far to go to see if all villagers are here) most of towns are empty since day 185. maybe a bug with cannibals taking all people lol

This bug has only occurred in towns/outposts that I either walk through and/or trade with; towns I have yet to visit are unaffected (at least till after I arrive/leave)

Generally, I fill up the inventories of most shopkeepers in one visit, both from hauled goods and performing Exterminatus on the local hostile wildlife, then move on to a new town. No outpost/buildings or tech research done; circuit takes about 30 in game days to complete from a fresh import.

Not all towns are de-poping; Bark and Clownsteady are rather reliable. Additionally, several towns that de-pop'd can regain their guards/shopkeeps/money, but I have not observed this occuring consistently.

De-population seems to occur during gameplay itself, particularily while the player is absent from the load region, then re-enters after some time (~10-30 days). Quick-save/loading while in a populated town does not seem to result in depopulation, nor populating a de-pop'd one.

NB - Game was started fresh; did not import from an earlier build.

I was in Clownsteady, just doing trades between there and Brink with 2 characters. While they did this, i was using my 3rd character to run east to the cannibal camp, got a few guys to chase me back to Clownsteady.

When i got there expecting help from the guards, there was nobody. Reloading didn't fix this.

Here's the save file - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/26946166/%28Temp%29/quicksave.zip

Just started a new game, spawn in Heft. After entering the game I immediately got attacked by hungry bandits that spawned in at the same spot. As soon as the fight was over almost all of the villagers except the Gate guards, barkeepers, and people you can buy, decided to pack up and leave. I followed them for a few minutes and while trying to figure out the button to take a snapshot, I instead found the quick-save and quick-load buttons. After accidently saving it and reloaded while hitting the F1-10 keys, interestingly enough all of the villagers decided against immigrating and turned around and headed back towards town. Hope that helps.

Moved up to Bark, ALL of the villagers there are gone. Tried the quick-load thing and have had a guy waiting there for a while now. Been some time and so far there is no mass exodus of returning villagers like there was in Heft.

Imported my squad, tech, a few buildings into a new game and forced single threading. Bark repopulated, left Bark for about 20-30 rl minutes. Came back the town was still all good, traveled over to Heft and it is populated. Importing into a fresh game seems to have solved the problem. Not sure if the forcing the single threading is related just know it has solved a few problems others had. I will update this thread if I run into any more ghost town issues.

almost all my villages are now empty and i dont seem to understand the functionning of the glitch it seems that as soon as you walk far enough or out of a villages sight for a period of time, the villagers will go missing

While I was sending out a guy to search nearby towns to recruit more people. (Base was getting larger and needed a bit more people to keep the various jobs running smoothly.) And while he was approaching Clownsteady, I saw that most everyone, excluding the guards of it, were simply walking away from the city in a single file line. Plastic Surgeons, Traders, Barkeeps, even the people you can recruit in the bar were leaving. I have pictures of this. I don't know how to post them here but you can probably see it on my profile.
