Does secondary weapon stat boosts stack with your primary stat boosts?
See title
Does secondary stat boost stack with primary weapon stat boosts. Even when the secondary is not in use, just equipped.

Nah, you use the bonuses or maluses of whatever is currently in your hands.
Can we get a second opinion? So did they patch it
I have had this game for about a year and secondary weapons do absolutely nothing if they are not currently being used other than weigh you down.

What second opinion? It works like he said. You can easily verify it in game by equipping a secondary weapon and see if the stats change. Or like equipping three weapon, which would also not stack...

The only odd thing is when You have a crossbow equipped, and a secondary weapon - and have the person on follow - it shows the attack and defense stats instead of the crossbow skills, which also happens if it´s a MA user. So i´m actually unsure if it shows the "correct" stats when they´re set on follow - or bodyguard, which they aren´t when fighting...
A martial artist who is holding a crossbow and gets hit in melee will level melee defence. Probably because the crossbow is a weapon even if it isn't a melee weapon and weapons use melee defence/attack.

I never used martial arts much - only in the playthrough when i got Chad. And he had a crossbow - and like 50 dodge. Never looked at his melee defense though, but i guess You mean the rare case that he wouldn´t put his crossbow away to dodge - and actually gets hit while still holding it in his hands, when e.g. being hit because someone else got attacked and the aoe of the attack. But yes - when he´s holding the crossbow - he isn´t unarmed. Makes sense i guess. I usually avoid that situation though.

I'd guess the engine needs placeholder stats even as you can't use MA/MD with a crossbow.

The equiped weapon will be the weapon that gives their stat bonuses... Only time the large weapon is exchanged is if the character is in doors since indoors favors the smaller weapon... Unless its a ranged weapon that is the main. But I haven't experiemented enough to see if that is true
But I know enough that the equipped weapon is the one giving the stat bonuses
