hope that helps.
Another good idea if you want to go for the crossbow route, is go to Mongrel and have your guys mount the turrets on the walls. They get free precision training like this, or you could simply have them stand in a row outside the gates and let them shoot at nearby Fogmen all day. You can also buy high tier crossbows at the Ranger Shop.
KO a couple of beak things (bonus points if elder), drop them on/near seto, then watch them suicide into your turrets.
It works if you're only allied with the HN, but not yet at war with SK.
Else you can only get them as far as your stealth skill allows.
Or grab a couple of eagle crosses and nail them on their walls.
Stealth assassinate anyone you want.
Maybe even loot their weapon/armor and kill them after.
Just recruit more people and train up.
It certainly helps that a lot of them don't believe in stomach armor.
I will consider all of this.
Turrets firing line didn't work by the way.
Inaccurate and do not deal enough damage.
I'd say a high skilled with mk2 or double harpoons does a lot of dmg.
They either bypass the diplomatic status immunity which stops crossbows or mine spiked esata by accident (which i doubt).
According to the wiki a 6 barrel should do fine enough too. 6 shots, 50 pierce dmg.
