Is it just me, or is the General Shop in Heng...
The best stocked general store in the game? Seems to consistently have a high amount of useful items, like Robotics components, steel, fabric, books, iron plates, copper alloy, electrical components, etc. Is it because it's a Trader's Guild store? The only United City I've made a base in before was Sho-Battai, but this actually seems to blow it out of the water, in terms of industrial potential. One of the easiest ways to make cash is turning steel and robotics components into repair kits and then selling them. It also seems to have higher amounts of Fabric than other stores. Then there's the proximity to Gut, which is a gold mine. One of my favorite areas in the game, due to all the animal skins and golden eggs you walk out with.

Oh yeah, there's also the slave farm right next to Gut, which sells bread and cactus 50% off, which = extremely cheap Dustwiches, or take the meat from the Beak Things you kill and make Meat Wraps.

Welp, that's the thing I was forgetting. United Cities go to hell in 3 days. Half the shops are vacant, due to civil war.

Leave it to Western Hive to be the reason I need to import. Buggers killed all the shop owners.

Three Days In and Your getting civil wars? Geez, I never noticed - Then Again I rarely hang out in the United Cities more than I have to, I tend to hang around Shek/Western Hive Territory :P

This happens for me in every United City. Lol
I generally have to import a lot when hanging around them. Kind of painful, depending on which point in the game you're at. :P

I think that has to be your mods given that western hive just sits in tiny villages in vanilla

Wait, they don't have caravans in vanilla?

They do, they just don't assault the UC or have big enough groups to disrupt a city.

I wiped out most of Heng once because a group of 15+ Beak Things would not leave me alone and kept following me all the way from northwest Gut to Heng. The guards are surprisingly poorly equipped to deal with that. I slept in the bar and watched the chaos unfold

Well, they always seem to end up killing shopkeepers when the chaos unfolds. Or they drag everyone else into the fight and the whole city becomes hostile with each other. >:C
Most of the real cascades I've seen in the UC have been due to manhunters or slave hunters trying to enslave a guard who got knocked out by something, shopkeepers only get involved if the fighting enters their shop.
