[Experienced Players Welcome] Mods for Beginners
Hi guys.

I need some crucial mods for Vanilla Kenshi. It will be my first time, i want to try it.
If possible, i dont want main stuff in game to be changed, i want vanilla, but if theres is bug fixes mod, animations mod, or optimisation and stuff like that, feel free to send me a list of those for the first play.

Thank you!

However, many mods exist to give you a nice optimization boost. I use these:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1767450093 Particles and Foliage Fix

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2974077189 Water Optimizer

Re-Kenshi is not available on Steam but on Nexus. It provided me the single biggest performance boost I have found with its altered height map. I simply use it for the height map and randomizer fix and leave everything else turned off.

As for bugfixes, I use this compilation: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2714086775

I love it, but it mostly fixes bad grammar, weird icons, and other small issues, rather than anything game-breaking. You can certainly play without it.

That is a good list. To add to that I would also really use a pathfinding mod.

If you want mods that keep Kenshi as vanilla as possible while fixing things and improving on some of the core features without drastically changing them. I'd suggest looking through some of Shidan's mods.

His Tweaks and Fixes mod is pretty much the only 'must have' mod out there imo, because it genuinely fixes many of the games issues without affecting the gameplay.

Edited to add: While skimming through the thread I didn't notice that Unofficial Patches for Kenshi was suggested above. If you use that then do not install Shidan's Tweaks and FIxes, most of it is included in the Unofficial Patches for Kenshi mod.

While I do understand the player perception behind OP's thread, often it is best to play a game until you have better insight and start to 'see' things that you would like different, only then look for mods. Chances are these are the same things for others and a mod already exists.

That said, these were among the first things that put a 'splinter' in my brain and needed to be modded right away.

See before and after to understand, the description makes little sense...
