ok well im their playin on kenshi (obvs lol) and i get raided by 10 hungry bandits let em all die literally (serves em right) then 10mins later boom 2 groups (20 hungry bandits) just arrive and wipe out my 8 people so im thinking thats bit excessive

For me this is not about difficulty, its about fun.
Building a base from scratch is possible but no fun.
Too much micromanagement and hectic for no reason at all.
Bandit raids was a bad game breaking idea.

agreed on the fun part, but to me building a base in peace with the every now and then attacks was fun, watching my guys do their individual tasks and then setting out on a adventure, going back and relaxing in my zone

you mention micromanagement, well to me I find that a bit too annoying, hense why I only have 10 members and not the full 20 or however many you can have, too much clicking and dragging that after the 2nd week of playing im like f**k it! I hear that they want a army sized amount, so that might be bad once the time comes

bandit raids however are a nice addition as it brings the fun to you, but the fact that its way overboard or not based off of your skills or amount of people you have isnt good... its just random amounts.. and random times, but still too frequent atm......

but I love the game, honestly, I like it alot

i agree likewise just lower the bandit numbers or something and extend the time before they invade and everything will be fine its what i been tryin to tell the others, and once you get everything sorted then fine send a few more and increase their skills but ive only been attacked by hungry bandits lol and by now they should have the lowest numbers ever but somehow they still have a huge amount of hungry bandits lol

well I did lower the pop settings to 1, restarted and they seem to be attacking in fewer forces, still a pain though lol

Sorry but if Kenshi's micromenagemet is an issue for you then you are new too this kind of games, is not difficult or annoyng at all! just go streight for stone mine --->Stone processor--->house--->farm---->well---->Rum distiller amd your are rolling money and mats to grow.

make an effort to say where you set your base: if it's close to a city and where in the map.
My first settlement was close to Black Scratch...easy place and few raids....then I impor my game and mass emigrate to eas to of Brink just under the hill...building from scratch. And much more raids, and fun because most of my NPCs are in avarage above 15 Attack and defence. So can fight food raids easly and hungry bandits. Dust Bandits I prefer to run for the guards. But I also noticed more crashes then before once they show up and taunt me.

ok you constantly say realism. the realistic point is the bandits would stab you in the face while you were on the ground repeatedly and take your base as there own. if you are having massive issues with bandits buy houses in towns. bandits wouldnt send 10 guys after you then just give up they would crush you into the dirt because its all about credibility and if one random nameless group of nerds stood up to you why not everyone else? why not (for the realism as you keep saying) build up a nasty reputation of beating bandits that they just dont come around anymore. i have two rotating groups of 5 at my gate one fights one heals and everyone else in my group can hold there own even with a large trader backpack while they produce and research and farm and what not. heres a tip that helps have a heavy club on one guy take off his taunt so he makes it to the fight (if everyone else engages noone focuses on him) swings once and hits a body part no matter how armored they are and boom they are toast. dont make everyone have one just one or two guys for support because there swing and block rate is so low.

Yes i constantly say realism cause thats what its suppose to be as real as possible but thanks for the info but i can survive in this game which i have done with the 8 members on my new save and my old save, the point i was getting at like this thread is no group of bandits would attack that repetitive or theyd send a small group then large thats fine, and i have no choice but to practically slaughter them anyways what choice do i have, yes i love the fighting in the game aswell as building my base as my own, i just think it should be equalled out a little and even the dev agrees its excessive which ive already said

With the sandbox theme i'd rather avoid nearly automatic mechanics that often create a set of bandits for the exclusive reason of attacking the players outpost.

Either ust allow raids to start from mostly health wandering bandits...Or set a standard path from a bandit cove. so i also have somewhere to attack to stop bandit raids from that source.

While i like the desire of bandits attacking a player outposts..I feel the implimentation to not be sandboxish enough for my tastes..

There isn't to my knowlage, but if they are raiding as an organized group, they should have a place i could attack. Thats part of my complaint about the mechanics.

I think it felt much more sandbox persistant before this. Not to mentuion the number of waves i've been getting. Some groups are waiting for me to finish with the last group.

I like the idea of being attacked. i think how that attack is produced, and how its then executed within the game, as a negative.

likewise and yes the bandit coves sound good attack them clear the cove and within 3 days they respawn, unless you capture it then the other bandiits will have to recapture it or just attack your base from distance

Not sure I agree. I'd prefer the equal chance to wipe them out. Now would that stop random bandits, or bandits from farther away from coming? no, but since they have the opportunity to wipe me out, they should face the risk too.

After all, i won't repopulate my city after 3 days if they kill me.

honestly bandits will never die or be wiped out due to people not enjoying their life at the castle or want to go a revenge mish or just money crazy will become a bandit or deserters so they will always remain

Wiping the bandit "cove" or whatever in order to stop the attacks sounds like a great idea, pity its lost in this long thread, make a new thread or post it on the dev's site.
I like the idea a lot, maybe its doable and the devs will implement it.
