Whats the best way to do Freedom Seekers?
Everytime I get up and starting I always get raided, before I can do anything. The last time I just started building the first building then before I knew it a horde of screaming bandits came over the hill and gang raped all of my people. What the best way to get started? By the way can you edit save files?

Personally I'd say stay clear of the Freedom Seekers start for a little while. Although you have a squad of several people, the majority of them are pretty poor when it comes to melee. Try and different start nd build up a squad from there, training them as you go along so that they can defend any base you build from bandit attacks.

Another alternative if you decide to stick with the Freedom Sekkers is to sell all of the building materials and just beat up bandits/collect bounties for a while, earn some cash and re-equip your squad from there.

Basically you'll need a few people who can actually fight reasonably well and some better weapons and armour to survive the amount of bandits that fling themselves at your base so often.

Also keep in mind that your equipment can have a drastic effect on your combat skills, especially with fresh characters. For example, a large backpack will reduce your attack and defense rating by 10, putting them both at -9. I should also mention that defense is super important. Without defense, you'll never survive long enough to practice attacking. A tip to level of up: use the blocks only and taunt buttons on a character to establish them as a sort of tank. Their defense skill should go up pretty fast.

On the backpack thing, if you get attacked while carrying a backpack, move the backpack from equipped to your normal inventory - the penalties will disappear till you re-equip it.

Heh, the way I did it most recently is to sell all the Freedom Seekers building materials and their packs and then recruited a Medic at the saloon to make a crew of 8 and then went out and trained them up to combat readiness by whacking bandits ninja and cannibals.

What I did was use the building materials to construct the basic buildings necessary for self-sufficiency (small shack, ore mine, ore refinery) close to a town, as it seemed more enemies got generated or pulled there if I had a few buildings around; more enemies - faster skilling.
