crab armour or samurai armour?
for a skeleton with a heavy weapon, is crab armour or samurai armour best?

The 50% dexterity penalty on crab is hard to justify outside of training, in my opinion. Dexterity affects attack speed, block speed, and cutting damage. I've always found the 15% damage reduction on samurai to be the lesser evil of heavy armor debuffs because that doesn't affect your defense at least. The lack of full stomach coverage can be mitigated pretty well with samurai legplates, reducing your chance of taking a full stomach hit (assuming no shirt) to only 7.5%.

Heavy weapon and full samurai is actually one of my favorite loadouts. It's always felt really strong to me, especially on skeletons and hivers, who don't feel the stomach opening as much because they have reduced stomach hit chance.

Samurai armour iirc will overall reduce the damage of heavy weapons aside from the fragment axe less than the dex penalty of crab armour would, so if you want to deal damage you want the samurai armour. Crab is likely better for training and tanking, but masterwork or specialist samurai armour will do just as good in most situations or better.
