Mongrel Shopkeepers Disappearing?
Okay I'm unsure if this is a bug or Fogmen (intended), but shopkeepers in Mongrel are slowly one-by-one disappearing. Like, I'll buy something from them and the next day they're not there. Now I don't pay too close attention to things since my crew is either out Prince-hunting or sleeping off nearly getting devoured, and I AFK for a bit while they're sleeping.

It started with the mechanic shop (way in the back of the city), then the general shopkeeper disappeared (this guy, I do believe could be taken since he's near the gates) but now the armorer has disappeared, and I have trouble believing Fogmen really took them because of the amount of guards concentrated in the back of the city (away from the gates, where the armory and mechanic shop are).

I do not know if this is a bug or not, anyone having similar experiences or know what's going on?

I never had it in Mongrel, because the shops are a bit further away from the entrance. I had the guards shrinking in numbers though, which is usually when i leave the town if i want it or not, while the guards are usually superior to the fogmen, even if they get hurt a bit from time to time. It´s only dangerous, when they go out far, that one guy could be taken, and then the second, and so on.

Something like that i only saw in Catun, in which for example the vendors would get killed - usually the weapon vendor, which is the main vendor in town. But the town is attacked by beakthings frequently and the guards can´t handle it. Last time i came there it was a massacre, and even healing everyone didn´t work, as they just went fighting again to get killed and losing limbs. I try to not stay for long in those towns - and just wanted to deliver the gorillo guy.

And the only vendor i had disappearing for no reason basically, was the vendor in the scraphouse, apparently this might happen from time to time - but i never had that before.

They are dying, that is a known issue. It is not a bug, sort of. It is annoying as f, but it kinda is not preventable.
I find this hard to believe with Mongrel's security, especially in the back areas of the city like the armor merchant and mechanic.

EDIT: I found a shopkeeper respawn mod. Still find it hard to believe.

any fix? i have the same problem in flat lagoons with almost all shop keepers and bartenders dead, i thought about importing on new game resurrecting dead npcs, would that work?

The option to import dead NPCs only applies to unique characters. Importing will respawn generic characters either way, which includes almost all shopkeepers in the game.

Had the plastic surgeon in Mongrel go missing, now the thief tower is close to the gate and people has been kidnapped sleeping there.

Stack, Mongrel, Mourn, are cities destined to be overrun. This is not a bug. If you wish to keep these cities alive, you'll need your own security force, and lots of them. Stack implodes with internal fighting. Mongrel slowly gets eaten alive, Mourn too. Even with my own security force in place, I can only slow down their destruction. Importing seems to be the only real temporary solution. If I recall correctly from years ago, the shopkeeper respawn mod was bugged. It took 2-3 days for respawn and I had some problem with it. Perhaps it works correctly now. Run in, do your business, then get out. If you stay, you are condemning these cities to their fate.
