Regarding "Attack All"
First off... I love this game. I've been gaming all my life and this gives me the same feels as those old open world "do whatever" games like Sid Mier's Pirates and Darklands.

That said... I have a real issue with "Attack All"

If I select a scrawny cannibal and pick "Attack All" you can be sure I mean to attack ALL of the Scrawny Cannibals. Why my team instead runs in the opposite direction to attack a pack of bonedogs who are not only NOT Scrawny Cannibals but also farther away than the Scrawny Cannibals, I have no idea, but I wish it would stop.

"Attack All" should prioritize the enemy type you actually selected. So many times I've tried to help a town fight off attackers only to find my guys fighting United Cities guards (because maybe I killed some slavers before?) when those same guards were not hostile to me at all before my guys decided they were included in "Attack All"

rant finnit

Side comment, ahh Darklands. I gaze at the boxed game here in my closet. Very fond memories of that game.

Hmmm, 1992. Even more off to the side, I remember goofing around with Red Baron (before it became RB3d...). Think these memories are rose-coloured tho...

Hmm. I personally don´t use the "attack all" command. Instead i would place the guys with heavy armor, or those on taunt, in front of the group, and as soon as they are in combat, anybody else would try to get into combat as well. Like i pick one guy and attack another guy with them. Usually the boss, as they´re the strongest, and pull the whole group.

You only need "attack all" when You have all of Your guys selected, so they wouldn´t all attack the same guy. But on default they would pick different targets anyways. Occasionally, when i have an archer, i would manually select one guy to attack those who want to attack or rather run to the archer., but those are usually my pack animals, and i rarely use archers, because as soon as the combat is halfway finished, he will try to pull anybody else in reach...

Dunno how well it'll work out for you specifically, OP, but you might try just pushing R instead of giving a direct order to go into battle. This button cancels whatever your units are doing: if there are any hostiles, usually they'll then just go straight into battle with whichever ones are closest.

This. Attack All can be wonky.
Attack Target gets their attention and draws your characters into combat but if you don't want them to focus on that specific one, then just tap R while they are close to attacking and they'll just fight targets of opportunity.

Because this game has countless AI problems.
